3 UCLA basketball players arrested in China arrive back in US

Recommended Posts

Should have let the three pieces of garbage rot in a Chinese prison. I can't even believe UCLA let them wear school athletic gear for the flight home. Should have made them where black and white striped or bright orange jumpsuits.

Ah, but you're thinking this is the same UCLA that John Wooden coached.

Well, it's a California thing. Shoplifting is now just a ticket if it's under $950 worth of stuff. The Pros hit multiple stores and make sure they take less than $950 from each one. Maybe they just got used to CA laws and thought China was similar.

Caught stealing something worth less than $950? That means a ticket, too. Caught using some of that $950 to buy more drugs? Another citation.

“It’s a slap on the wrist the first time and the third time and the 30th time, so it’s a virtual get-out-of-jail-free card,” said Shelley Zimmerman, who became San Diego’s police chief in March 2014. “We’re catching and releasing the same people over and over.”

Officers have begun calling those people “frequent fliers,” offenders who knew the specifics of Prop 47 and how to use it to their advantage. There was the thief in San Bernardino County who had been caught shoplifting with his calculator, which he said he used to make sure he never stole the equivalent of $950 or more.

because being arrested is the same as being convicted...:rolleyes:

These guys all stole Louis Vuitton sunglasses. It was caught on CCTV. The Chinese Police found the items in their hotel rooms and on their bus. They admitted to it.

Trump should have let them serve a year or two in China's prison. UCLA should expel them.

Typically, outstanding athletes get scholarships. With some schools, in the past, they got a lot of perks to induce them to choose a particular school, but NCAA and other associations and conferences have cracked down on those practices, so perhaps they don't have big allowances or sports cars.

Every player on a D1 basketball team is under scholarship.

These &hitheads were representing the USofA, the UC system, UCLA and its students as well as all of Southern California.

Too bad it wasn't Singapore. Would love to have seen them be caned on social media.
