Bitcoin soars to record high above $6,000

Recommended Posts

What I would like to see is a way to deposit bitcoin in a brokerage account the same way you deposit dollars. Maybe a mutual fund that tracks bitcoin exactly with no premium with a super low management fee, like some of Schwabs index funds. This will make record keeping easier and make it less likely you'll be robbed, that could happen with online wallets. There is the GBTC exchange traded bitcoin trust, but I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. It trades at such a premium of the underlying assets, that it makes absolutely no sense to buy, but people do.

A better headline might be,

Cash Crunch! EVERYTHING ON SALE Including Crypto

Keep your eyes open people, there will be bargains everywhere. Best deals to come on a rotating basis.

Crypto would not be my first choice, but if that's your thing...

Yeah it's too bad you can't put a limit buy in on Bitcoin. Just hold it open at 3k or 4k or whatever and when it crashes like it did briefly last night your order is filled at a deep discount.

Well, having sat out of the bitcoin market thus far, I figure my only strategy for reaping a windfall is to wait for it to fall below $1000 and then load up on margin (5x sounds good) ;)
