TerryDMillerMBA
Ate two dinners today. About six, I had americanized Italian -- leftover spaghetti. At about nine, someone bought americanized Italian -- pepperoni pizza, so I had three slices. #Stuffed
Admin Pam Posted October 21, 2018 Admin Share Posted October 21, 2018 I went to an Italian restaurant in Jacksonville, FL, of all places and seriously had a super amazing meal. Sauteed calamari and hanger steak. I subbed brussel sprouts for the other veggies, and the entire thing was just divine.

IndyPoolPlayer
Speaking of leftover chili I had some from the weekend over spaghetti noodles. Sort of Steak-n-Shake 3-wayish. DW was looking at the boxes of unopened spaghetti noodles and said they all needed to be thrown out since they are past their "sell by" date. I said "put some essential oils on it, it'll be fine"
cv91915
I'm doubling up on Italian in Dubuque on Friday. Lunch will be at Mario's, and dinner is at Vinny Vanuchi's Little Italy. Tomorrow I won't be so fortunate (?), as a friend and his wife have chosen Tony Roma's as the ideal spot to meet for dinner. Normally I would have found a way to work in a weekend meal at Brazen, but nothing about this weekend is going according to plan, and Brazen isn't open for lunch. Saturday night is still open, but I think we will end up at Timmermans's Supper Club.

cv91915
I'm starting to have an anxiety attack over sitting down at Tony Roma's in four hours. Perhaps I should eat before I go.

cv91915
When I arrived in Dubuque yesterday around 5:30 pm I accidentally turned into the Olive Garden parking lot -- which was jammed -- instead of the lot at the Fairfield Inn. It was a pretty quick fix since they're right next to each other. It's too bad that Olive Garden doesn't serve breakfast, but at least I can keep an eye on my Jeep Patriot from my room this morning. cv91915
We bought a 3# salmon fillet at Costco yesterday. I'm getting tired of it, but it's one of TAD's favorites, after I coat it with oil, slather it with chopped garlic, sprinkle it with thyme, and then cook every molecule of moisture out of it. cv91915
Anyone familiar with this company? https://us.maille.com/ I hate mustard, but I think my dad would love this: Mustard with Whiskey and Smoked Pepper
cv91915
I hate oatmeal cooked in dairy milk as much as I hate it cooked in water. I've recently started using 12 ounces of almond milk plus 1 ounce of half and half, though, instead of just 13 ounces of almond milk, and the result is really good. cv91915
Lunch on Saturday with my hag will be at the North Park location of Soda and Swine, then we're off to see a matinee performance of The Crucible at Casa del Prado Theatre in Balboa Park ($8 tickets from Goldstar 😛). CTSoxFan
Tonight I am trying to make chicken in mole sauce using the spice mix from Savory Spice. Probably won't be as good as some of the Mexican places I frequent here in SoCal. Hoping for a decent result that is worth repeating. Friday will be pulled pork made sous vide (along with homemade BBQ sauce), potato salad, cole slaw and homemade cornbread. Will be a nice change of pace after the turkey overload Thursday.
