TheVig
Lunch for TAD and me at Five Guys today: two Little Bacon Cheeseburgers, two sodas and one regular-sized order of fries. $23.41. That's why I don't eat there much....feel like I need to do a BT or something after paying. Locations around me are decent though. Agreed. A fast food burger and fries has a maximum enjoyment factor for me. No matter what, it's only a couple of steps beyond a frozen pizza at home. I still get a hankering for a Tontinos now and again. The ones you get for a dollar or not much more than that. Lol

It's hard to stock groceries when you're only somewhere for a few days at a time. Plus... YUM.

They were always so good after going out to the bars but too drunk to go through Taco Bell. I really doubt they actually tasted that great, now that I think about it. mec
I had a couple of home made Mai Tais for dinner yesterday. They were better than anything I've had in a bar. 1/4 simple syrup 1/4 almond cherry syrup 1/4 Triple Sec 1/4 Bauchant Liqueur 3/4 lime juice & 2oz of Zaya 12 year. Shaken vigorously and poured over the garnish: 2 wedges of a small lime 2 half slices of orange 2 1/8 slices of pineapple A sprig of mint muddled A sprig of mint whole No matter how much you pay them, it's hard to get a bar to use quality ingredients. The finished glass was a collection of rinds and stems that smelled of rum and Curaçao. ... Edited May 28, 2018 by mec

cv91915
Earlier this week our power went out, and when it came back on it fried my beloved Mr. Coffee. Since I don't like the design of the new Mr. Coffee machines (I have one in San Diego), I did some research and found the Behmor Brazen Plus. The Brazen Plus has custom settings that allow you to set a pre-soak cycle for the ground coffee in the filter basket, the desired water temperature, and altitude. It arrived yesterday. Since I can't stay asleep I decided to make a pot at 2:45 a.m. and get the day started. This is the best pot of coffee I've ever made at home. Hard to believe this is even the same ground coffee. This machine is currently ~$146 + tax at Amazon (higher elsewhere), but the Google Machine led me to Roastmasters.com, where I picked it up for $129 with free shipping, a free pound of Willoughby's coffee, and no tax. I paid with my Freedom card via PayPal for 5 URs/dollar back (PayPal is 5% on Freedom this quarter). Roastmasters also has refurbished units for $95, but I prefer to have things that have only been furbished once. My washing machine can also do this.
cv91915
Trip to the grocery store is complete, and Grandma's peach pie is in the oven. There is a 100% chance that TAD is having pie for breakfast.

cv91915
Trip to the grocery store is complete, and Grandma's peach pie is in the oven. There is a 100% chance that TAD is having pie for breakfast. The filling for the pie calls for four egg yolks. I set the four egg whites aside, and just added two whole eggs... and then whipped up a mushroom, bacon and cheddar omelette using other leftovers. I forgot to toss in the sliced green onions from white trash taco night. Edited June 3, 2018 by cv91915

Came out ok. 1/2 cup salt (I used Himalayan-type) 1/2 cup pure chile powder 1/2 cup ground pepper 2 Tbsp garlic granules 1 Tbsp sugar Used it in potatoe wedges before i threw them in the oven. Also used it on grilled corn.

cv91915
On my walk back to my hotel in downtown Denver this afternoon I decided to drop in for some Jimmy John's to go, so I didn't have to venture outside for dinner later and risk being stabbed in the neck by one of the zillions of panhandling meth heads running around down here. I'm not sure which is more disgusting, downtown Denver or downtown Portland. I can't wait to leave on Wednesday.
