For the old school folks, that symbol would be known as a "pound sign", therefore that would be 60 pounds.   Of course anyone born after 2000 thinks that he said "60 hashtag" and that the ha

Grey's cafeteria in Mooresville Indiana. I know it was on food Network a few times and was talked highly about..I would honestly equate it to taco Bell as it only Taste good when drunk.

I avoid places that were featured on a TV show as a matter of policy.

Hog troughs. There's another hog trough called Poe's in Martinsville. There there's MCL, and the ones where kids stick their fingers in the food - Golden Corral and Old Country Buffet.

Neither are as over priced as Grey's though. Standards three piece chicken dinner with a roll, green beans and potatoes is around sixteen dollars.... It's kfc quality

I would advise you to open your horizons. A lot of the places I went to that were featured on TV were actually quite good. Usually I don't go before getting confirmation from a couple of review websites as a second source. All the data in the world thought doesn't replace trying it yourself.

Well, to be honest, Lucha Libre is still on my list of places to try.

I'm currently in Chesapeake VA. My particular hotel location leaves a lot to be desired on GrubHub and related delivery services.

Now I must leave my hotel and venture out for a decent meal amongst the unwashed masses.

Even if I only had one delivery option -- and it was Indian food -- I would stay at the hotel and take my chances.

K - I have been to quite a few places around SCP. Mentioned Vaca before. Water Grill not worth it IMO. Cap Grille is always solid. Down the street at the camp there is Havana which was really good and across the way there are some good lunch options like Umami burger and Vitaly. A few other places at the camp I want to try but havent yet.

Had an amazing meal in Budapest last week, will share details tomorrow.

Habana - and it's in The Lab, on the east side of Bristol, just south of Pep Boys (The Camp is new newer Alt-strip mall across the street). Great patio on a warm evening

On the south edge of The Lab, I highly recommend Memphis Cafe - really good spin on Southern Soul food.

C-Level -- DGF got in at 5pm, and after a week of conferences and 7 hours of flying, the patio at sunset was the perfect attitude adjuster. Thanks for the suggestion

Nice. I need to drop in for a Skirts on Fire salad again one of these days. I have a friend who's a pilot for AA, and when he gets to SD and I'm in town, we usually have lunch there.

Funny you should mention Skirts -- that's what I ordered. Strange combination of flavors that work together really well.

Across Bristol on Randolph is the Rooster Cafe. Pretty good breakfast (but not good enough to deal with the weekend morning crowds). And Barley Forge brewpub is another 75m or so down the road.

You are correct..always mix those two up. Vitaly and UB are at camp, Habana is in the lab.

I had errands and clients to see in LA today, last being in Torrance. On the way back to the 405 off Western is the Kings Hawaiian Bakery. Went in to the bakery/restaurant and grabbed a regular loaf of Hawaiian bread and a loaf of Hawaiian cinnamon bread.

Tomorrow morning the Hawaiian cinnamon bread will he turned into French toast. It will be awesome.

They also have Hawaiian jalapeño bread which I have used before as part of pulled pork sandwiches. It was awesome. But it would not be awesome as French toast.

Actual conversation with the room service agent at my hotel in Tokyo last night:

"What is the pizza of the day?"

"I will have to check with kitchen and call you back"

[pause; ring ring]

"The pizza of the day is sausage and octopus meat."

"I would like to have that, but without the octopus meat."

"Let me check if we can do that and call you back."

Oh gosh I am so jealous! A Kings Hawaiian Bakery !!! All I can ever find around here in central Florida are the Kings buns or rolls at the Grocery. But we do love them. I would be in heaven to find different varieties of the stuff.. Hawaiian cinnamon bread French toast = makes me smile just thinking about it

If you find yourself in SoCal, it's about 20 minutes south of LAX. My favorite is the Banana Mac Berry pie -- pie crust lined with chocolate, filled with Bavarian cream, bananas, macadamia nuts (of course), strawberrys, whipped cream, and then more chocolate drizzled on top

They ship, although it doesn't appear the cinnamon bread makes it to distribution.

I might need to try the smoked bacon bbq sauce next.

Tuesday night on my flight into San Diego I sat next to a really insecure 27 year old who was bragging that all of his food arrives at his door in the form of meals delivered by GrubHub or groceries from Whole Foods.

A little bit later he showed me his new Bose headphones (his second set), and then said that he had just purchased two new iPhones.

this was before we left the gate.

Then, shortly after takeoff he told me that he works at Home Depot, and then he showed me pictures on his iPhone of his boyfriend posing naked at Black's Beach. There were several shots.

When guys completely shave down there, their stuff looks like raw chicken parts.
