Navy FCU 12m 0% BT 0% for existing accounts

Searched the forum and did not see this posted immediately anywhere.

 

I just got a letter from NFCU saying my existing card account will be getting 0% APR for purchases for 12 months and 12 months 0% BT (must transfer balance by Oct 14th).

 

I have never heard of an issuer giving 12 months of 0% for purchases on an existing account? Has anyone else got this offer?

 

The account is a cashRewards visa that I have had for about 6 years. I sporadically use it to keep it active.

Yes nfcu is notorious for doing these offers.

Got it for DWs card a couple of weeks back. I have the same card but did not get the offer. Not sure why one of us got it and not the other.

Citi just gave me 10 months @ 0% on new purchases on my existing ATT Access and More or whatever it is.

There is no restriction on the form.

The OP is talking about new purchases, not BT's or convenience checks. (Not that there's a big difference, and of course putting the charge on a higher earning rewards card and then BT'ing at $0/0% is better).
