Payment or Settlement of Judgement

So I have a judgement from years ago that fell off my credit report due to it being older than 7 years, but I am still making regular payments on(it was a large judegment). I am frankly tired of paying it, and wanted advice on what recourse I have to possibly settle. I havent missed a payment in about 5 years on it, and its about $40k remaining. It was originally about $80k before any collection fees were added. I currently am paying a little over $10k per year in payments. I could wait a few more years, but I rather not. In anyones experience, is settlement a possibility or is it not likely? It doesnt affect my credit, but I rather just get rid of a $1000+ per month payment.

It doesn't hurt to ask to settle in full if you can but don't be surprised if the judgment creditor says no (because they want to collect interest).

I doubt they'll budge. I would go to my credit union and talk to a loan officer.
