When can I cancel homeowners when title or deed transfers?

My FC has been going on since 2012. There was finally an order of possession allowed last month. Do I need to wait for the title to transfer or the deed in order to cancel insurance? I have maintained homeowners insurance on this house because I didn't want any personal liability. I have completely moved on and have lived in my new house for 3 years (hubby purchased & I am on the deed, in the entirety). We do have a renter that I have been completely forthcoming with throughout this whole process so the house is still occupied.

I went pro se and have been watching the court docket online. I called the attorney for the bank to try to speed this shiznit up because I want everything out of my name. They said that there are notes from January that said that the title is clear. The deed has been released to the attorneys office but they have yet to file it with the court. This process has been going on for 5 years and I just want it to be over already. I am helping coordinate so that the deed goes to the bank's attorney.

My renter got a letter today saying that ownership has changed and they want to talk to her to discuss how things will impact her.

Can I cancel the homeowners insurance yet? Or should I wait until I see the update online when my name has been released. Will I also see that DCU was released from the title?

Thanks!

Not to be misconstrued as legal advice but if I were in the same situation, I would cancel my insurance or for more peace of mind, not renew if you've already paid up for the year. Sounds like you are currently insuring a property you have no ownership in.
