I started my credit journey here on Creditboards 4 years ago yesterday. I've gone from 12+ baddies across all three reports to only 1 baddie left on Experian, of course. I've gone from $0 to $200k in credit and went from 530 FICO to a 790. It took a lot of reading, letters and research but it can be done. The first few months are the hardest and waiting for the mail everyday can drive you crazy. I did a few months of reading and research before sending my first letter. That was hard to do but I'm glad I following that advice from CB members because you really need to understand what you are doing and sending.

Thanks to the admins and everyone who helped me along the way.

Chris

Congrats! I'm 9 months into my credit repair journey, and I've jumped an average of 100 points in all 3 scores. It's a journey, but one that is well worth it. Thanks for sharing! Truly inspirational for us "newbies."

Outstanding! So what are your current credit goals, beyond the lone negative item on Experian?

Just maintaining, keeping my bills paid and watching spending. :yu:

Using the advice here, I started only 3 1/2 months ago too with 620-630 scores. Got EX 100% clean and 716 score, TU has a couple tax liens still but up to 682, EQ also has couple tax liens but a 672 (just pulled all 3 CRA reports tonight to verify). I just settled with IRS 2 weeks ago using an OIC so those liens will come off within next month...and am 30 days from finding out if State accepts my offer to settle with them...which will finish the journey if they do, if not I will keep trying till I get it done. I also thank everyone for the valued info even tho I did not post whole lot....mostly just a ton of reading.
