Two preapproval emails from Chrysler Capital.

I did not apply to Chrysler or at any dealership in the last year and then it was not a Chrysler product.

When I try to login to the preapproval it says I am inputting the wrong data.

No inquiry notification from the several monitoring services I am signed up for.

Been on hold with Chrysler for 15 min so far.

I was ID theft victim last year. I hope this is not again.

Thats now Santander.

Does not really matter who it is or how they are branded.

I just checked all my credit reports via https://www.annualcreditreport.com/ and did not see any hard or soft inquiries from them.

I had a loan with them that was paid off in 2018 all on time every time.

Not sure why at all I would be getting this.

Have you actually expanded the headers...may well simply be spam/phish food.

Think about how many different entities there are that are spoofed.  Some of the fraudsters still phish via email.  The headers almost always give it away...and that if the Reply To addy didn't succeed by itself...

You got the letter because you are a previous customer and they would approve you again since you paid their old loan off.   Ask me how I know.

Any bank in the Auto Finance business would approve me for an auto loan.. Auto scores 740 ish

When I clicked through on the email to "login" to see the approval it said the details, email address and last 4 of social, entered were incorrect.

Unless it was someone trying to use my info it makes sense that they would chose me from past customers. Instantly when I got it I thought the worse.

Yes, it is.

It's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

These little recognitions do have an influence on people when it comes to loyalty. 25 years with Chase, Bank of America or Citibank gets you .

US Skank BNPL offer on my Cash+ visa.

Seems like everyone is getting in on the BNPL scheme these days.

Gotta get the suckers lured in before the rates jump...and then when they do, nail them with the late fees.  All about the bottom line...get it in order now for the next earnings season.

Wow! I'd never have expected AmEx to do that.

Lately they are also pushing personal loan pre-approvals.

I posted last week that my Macys store card offered me an upgrade to the Amex card. Today I got a MyFico alert which reads:

A retail card account was removed from your report
Number of Retail Card Accounts Remaining; 0

w00t w00t

My Macy's reports two tradelines. One is the retail store account and the other is the AmEx credit card.

That COULD result in rebucketing...there have been discussions through the year that a retail card helped with the mix...
