I’ve disputed my 2013 bk dismissed ch 7 several times through different companies. All bk s have been removed other than exp. At one time, I had it removed from exp but a different dispute from the cfpb triggered a manual review and it came back. There is only one address attached to the bk , no other trades.

I’m so close to getting it removed but I think I beat up my file. I have opted out of lexisnexis, about to mail in my sagestream, ars opt out letter now.

Been reading some strategies to remove the address but any other advise would be gold!! My business loans are all riding on this stupid bk. So depressing.

@black10 , YOU ARE A FREAKING SAINT!!! Have you had experience with the CRA's verifying the disputes then trying different methods and having success?

One repair specialist has been having luck filing an FTC ID report to TU which carries over to EXP. Supposed to pop the address off. He stated he has done this 10+ times and its working; however, since my file has been overworked in the bureaus, it could be locked.

I've read in different forums to call the CRA's and try to convince them it's not my address, if my address is 123 Remove My BK St , to tell them its wrong and provide a non existent address like 234 Remove My BK St :) . or tell them its my ex girlfriends, co-signed a utility etc.

The address is only tied to my BK with Exp, was a home I used to own. I know if I can remove this address then the rest should be easy.

For Sagestream, I've heard its best to use the CMRR method (finally read what it meant :) because faxing can give them an excuse not to give you a confirmation, what are your thoughts?

If your strategy works brotha, I'm going to name my future son Blake

Can anybody help me with any suggestions?

  • 3 weeks later...

Regarding my lien. So I got results back from EX. They say they verified it. I expressed that there was an error and that I wanted to view all documentation regarding any records they had. Their "investigation" resulted in this message "The company that reported the information has certified to Experian that the information is accurate. This item was not changed as a result of our processing of your dispute. Please review your report for the details."

They haven't provided me with any documents. And just stated that a third party verified with the courthouse (lien) I have Lexnex, and Innovis frozen. My certified letter stated I wanted documentation to be provided to me or for the record to be deleted.... so now do I follow up with basically another MOV?

tell them to show you where they received the information so you can verify it. They have to disclose it to you by law

so I'm now in the same boat as Newguy00. TU responded to my MOV letter. they didn't send any verification documents. all the dispute said is "information updated" and the BK remains with a newly updated date of 11/27/2017.

I'm not sure where to go at this point since I already fired off the MOV letter first. I never sent an original dispute.

on the other hand, I sent a dispute letter to EQ and they deleted the BK in less than a week.

should I send another MOV letter to TU? I'm afraid that will be interpreted as a frivolous repeat dispute. or do I go straight to the CFPB now since they did not provide me with verification documents as required by law?

Hello I want to be clear

TU MOV only?

EQ dispute only?

When it was verified did it result in a score change?

It seems that TU believes they are above the law and does not have to produce the documents until someone stands up to them and calls their bluff.

Screw all that elitism! All it takes is persistence, and time.

I received a letter from sagestream providing a 2 page report today. My BK TL was not listed; however, in the same envelope, they provided my Innovis report. Stated I was opted out from Innovis. Not sure if they are merged but there was no public record listed. I did see my address attached to my BK TL.

I read about a strategy to call the bureaus and ask to correct the address. I.e. it’s not 1234 stone st , its 234 stone st. An address that doesn’t exist. Well, I just changed one of my credit card address today to “234 stone st” which should report by the 3rd. It will be posted on Experian report which will give me an some ground to convince the CB rep to amend the BK TL. “Look, this address is wrong, it should be 234 stone st, see, my credit card is attached to it”.

Wish me luck, I’ll know this week when I try.

I live next to Experian’s office, should I try and do this in person or will it be better to talk to an offshore rep?

You said CB rep? What is that?

Also.. Sounds like it COULD work, if they enter in what you say on the phone. You may encounter some resistance? They sometimes like to be totally unhelpful. Or totally obtuse.

Credit Bureau Rep. Think it provides some substance to my request. I’d probably build some rapport first, talk about the equifax breach and tell her I’m very concerned about id theft. I’ve been getting weird calls so I checked my credit recently. Noticed this error and don’t want to take ANY chances.

Were you able to get the addresses removed from both EQ and TU prior to your attempts or did some remain?

I'm running into a wall with EX.

I got the address deleted that was tied to the BK.

I froze and opted out of LN and the other half dozen data miners.

I disputed with EX and it came back as verified.

I sent them an MOV.

Their response was that they had a 3rd. party certify to them that the BK was correct but did not supply any information who the 3rd. party was.

They told me to refer to my credit report for the furnisher or public records office name. That would be the courthouse.

I sent a follow up letter a few weeks ago stating that I spoke with the clerk of courts and they DO NOT report to any CRA so you need to tell me how you verified this information or remove it.

I told them that they were in violation and they had 15 days to respond or I was filing a formal complaint with the CFPB and I would start to initiate a civil complaint against them.

I am waiting for their response. I sent everything CMRR.

My TU & EQ are completely clean

Hi all. Long time no post. Is it still necessary to dispute tax liens / freeze Lexus Nexus etc? Even if it no longer appears on credit reports with EX, EQ, TU?

For what goal? The only issuer that I think goes snooping around Lexis Nexis and the likes is US Bank. If you are not planning to App with them why bother? Proceed cautiously, take actions commensurate to your goals and profile. For instance if you are in a stage where you need secured cards, there should be no need to go freezing reports unless....
