Cap 1 cut my CL by 20k

Recommended Posts

Just logged in and Cap1 cut my Venture to 10k?? Never carry a balance on any card other than $2. My utilization is almost always at .002 percent on all combined cards

Use the card a few times per month to keep it active and usually PIF.

I called and the rep stated they cut the limit because the most I ever used was 6500k and that was in 6/2015...

Oh well any ideas on how to get my limit back? TIA

Just got the email, too. They cut me from 31,750 to 10K. Their reasoning was correct-low utilization, low balances-but I always PIF. Not sure if it would be worth combining cards again in the future if they will just cut it later.

I guess I need to put some more spend on them?? If not I will transfer the the balance and hit them up for another sign up bonus. Put the other cards in the DW and my wallet for spend next week.

This is why they are called Crap1 and are subprime.

Sorry they did this to you. You obviously can and have done better.

They shut me down a long time ago, and I never looked back.

I thought you had more than 1, and was doing the combining thing... guess not.

Nope. I only had the 1 card that started out as an Orchard Bank Visa and I could only get it up to $10,750.

My first Cap One, and first card, is also stuck at $10,750... but has always been with Cap One.

Just put about 6k on watches on amazon between two Cap1 cards. I will keep 1 maybe 2 and return the other 2

The things MF says...

If you can't depend on a card especially rock solid Cap1 then I have no need for them.

Capital one isn't the first and won't be the last to cut limits. Being that it's so far in excess of what you actually use, I don't really see what the issue is. *shrugs*

+1

My V1 has always been 10k, but I just got a 2k bump to 17.5k on my QS. I never put more than $1400/mo on the QS, and the V1 is holding the balance for a wedding at 0%.

Why would you assume to know what I use/spend on my credit cards? I have many and a pretty high monthly spend "shrugs"

You're joking right? You put in your original post what the highest usage on the card was and the date.
