Interesting situation with the OC

- EQ only reports this account for little over $100

- Service provided in 2012

- The hospital used a different billing company that no longer deals with who's the OC on the report

- Same OC said they have no access or info on the account

- OC said to call CA and pay them

 

This isn't my first medical collection so I did:
- Delete old address

- Opt out (long time ago)

- Sent CRA handwritten dispute via priority mail; EQ verified

- Sent CA DV letter; no response

 

I sent another DV letter via priority mail/delivery confirmation this week.

 

Here's my question: I tried to find the original account number from the OC by calling who no longer works with the hospital said they don't have access to the old info (2012?), they don't have my account number and that I would need to pay the collection agency as they no longer have the debt. I asked the OC specifically if they will accept payment to them and they said no. They have no 'ability' to.

 

Even if CA responds to the letter what happens? I can't move forward with the program? I find it odd they wouldn't have 'any' information...medical information of all things.

You do NOT "wait" for a response from the CA. You send the follow up dispute as soon as you have the proof of receipt.
