Thanks everyone that told me to try BOA for a Business Checking Account. I was approved. Yay me.

I had to sign some other documents because my name is showing up on my Business Account??? I don't know if that sounds right or not.

Thanks!!!! I love this Blog!!

Corporate Resolution? If so I had to sign one too.

Bank Of America waives their $14 monthly fee if you spend $250 on your debit card. And their online banking and app is pretty great. Also you can get employee cards without adding them as signers which is great but don't send your employee to the Philippines with just that because it sucks over there.

After 3 months mobile deposits are available next day and you have until 9pm EST and same day if taking into the branch.

Oh and I think you can open it with 50 bucks

Within the last couple of weeks they changed the mobile check deposit cut off time to 11pm EST!

Never thought I would say this, but I have the BOA biz banking account and I absolutely love it! It is very convenient and I pay no fees since I spend at least $250 per month on the debit. I have debit cards for employees as well. They have branches everywhere in Texas, so I am never too far from my money. I highly recommend it.

On a related note, can someone tell me how long it generally takes for a business checking account to be opened?

-I stopped into my CU to open a business checking account for a new venture: a sole-proprietorship (not an LLC) and after filling out all the paperwork and signing everything, she gathered it all together and said, "OK - we'll give you a call in a few days after everything has been verified and set up."

What? I thought that's what we just did?

Anyway - thoughts? Ideas? experiences?

How long should that really take?

I bank with Suntrust, Regions, Wells Fargo and EVERYONE of them was done the same day. Even Navy (which I done online) only took one day to process everything...lol What CU are you using?

The same day. If there was a problem with information found in the approval process, of they needed more information, they should have notified you.

It's Bethpage FCU - I'm on Long Island and do all my personal banking with them, so I figured it would be a relatively seamless process. Boy, was I wrong!

I think the person helping me was a bit wet behind the ears - maybe I'll stop by Monday, if I haven't heard from them.

It was only yesterday, so it hasn't been weeks or anything like that; I was just surprised that I didn't walk out with an account number in hand.

25 years doing business with every bank and I have never had to wait to open a checking account.

Nowadays you can even open them online, I just call my banker and pass by and sign, all in a couple of hours

There was a smaller bank in Illinois, could be Standard Bank but I can't remember. Only 1 branch was allowed to open Corporate accounts. All other locations had to gather the information and forward it over to that specific branch and wait for them to process and approve it. Not saying that is the case with the OP but that's the only case where I seen it take a couple of days.

I checked back with them today: Apparently, it goes to the manager for final approval and then they send it to the "business department" for set up.

Hi All!

I recently formed an LLC and opened a biz acct with regions. The rep never asked for social only my ID. But when I needed to setup online access I called because the system requested my social. It was at this time the rep added this info to the account.

I ordered my Chexsystem report and it should be here in five days. I owe a small hospital based credit union so I'm not positive about what is or is not reporting.

My question: do I run a chance of the account being closed or do you think I should be ok considering the acct was opened and funded without the rep ever requesting my social?

Thanks All!

The fact that the account was opened with out your social says it probably won't be a issue. If they did run signers it would have prompted the person to enter the social when doing the app and to skip it if even possible usually requires a manager override.

I opened a basic business checking with Zions Bank, it has a min opening deposit of 100$ But there's no monthly fee and it allows up to 150 transactions in a month. I opened it online and uploaded the docs. They approved everything and I had to fax the sig card. But they're pretty good although they do check chexsystems
