Yeah, I keep getting that offer when I log in to my PRG account. Still on the fence about it.

I'll add this since it is ending Jan 25th.

Amex Platinum Business

100,000 MR offer (50k after 5,000 spend, 50k more after additional 10k)

450 AF

I've been using this for the 50% back when booking airfare with points making it a 2cpp card for me.

Could you turn that into a 3 cpp card with an EDP for earning.

I just noticed the insider fares you can sometimes get can give you ~4% off before you pay 50% in points.

Yes sometimes the insider fares make it an even better deal. I like to use an EDP and a BRG (x3 at gas) to earn my MR's.

Your thoughts?

It depends on whether you plan on keeping the card open long term and how much you plan on spending on it.

There are a few other cards that come to mind that offer the same type of travel point redemptions.

PNC premier traveler -30,000 points after 3,000 spending in the first 3 months -earns 2 points per dollar - no fee the first year, then $85 per year.

Capital One Venture -40,000 points after 3,000 spending in the first 3 months -earns 2 points per dollar - no fee the first year, then $59 per year.

Barclays Arrival Plus -50,000 points after 3,000 spending in the first 3 months -earns 2 points per dollar and you get 5℅ of redeemed points back - no fee the first year, then $89 per year.

These cards can have restrictions on minimum redemption amounts.

So you'll get more value from Venture or Arrival Plus the first year if you meet the higher spending requirement.

The thing about the BofA Cards is the no annual fee so you don't have to churn the rewards and the card to avoid loosing the sign up benefit.

BofA cards can also earn more if you have qualifying accounts. I you just open a savings account to deposit rewards into you would get 1.65℅ back, up to 2.625℅ if you maintain BofA account balances over $100,000

Oh and my offer is for 75000, not 50

Yep and good for you on the 75K. Surprisingly, I still haven't been hit with the AF yet. Third month but I'm assuming I'll see it when the statement closes this month.

BA has the 100k Avios SUB.

Apply now for the British Airways Visa Signature® Credit Card and earn 50,000 bonus Avios when you spend $3,000 on purchases within your first three months from account opening.* Plus apply before September 30, 2017 and you'll earn an additional 25,000 bonus Avios after you spend $10,000 total on purchases within your first year from account opening, plus a further 25,000 bonus Avios after you spend $20,000 total on purchases within your first year from account opening - that's a total of 100,000 bonus Avios.*

It seems with all of the surcharges on BA these are more useful for non-BA flights.

Wifey signed up for BA 50/25/25, and used it on auto/homeowner insurance renewal to meet the initial 3K, Will be slowly working our way through the other 7K for 75K bonus, 85K total. It isn't worth trying for the whole 20/100.

Shame the offer isn't around till end of year or i'd sign up for one around November as i'd be eligible again. Usually i'm pretty down on Avios due to píss poor AA Saver avaibility but I recently did a pretty hot 4cpp redemption for Costa Rica, in peak season, no less.

I got the Amex Gold to Platinum upgrade at 60,000 MR points for $5K spend in 90 days. No hard pull, either.

AF is up to $550, though. If you use the perks, it generally pays for the AF.

I thought the $550 AF wouldn't start until September. Hopefully, you were able to sneak in the upgrade with the $450 AF. I've already exceeded the AF in perks of 400 bucks in travel reimbursements because I got the card in Dec., Centurion lounge for me and a guest 2x, MR points, and the SUB. I've even used Uber. So far, so good.

I just got a 70,000-mile offer (after $3,000 in spending in three months) for the United MileagePlus Explorer, plus there is an additional 5,000 miles for adding an AU.

Note that these are actual airline miles, not Fake Milez® like you get from Capital One or Discovery.

I burn these on international Economy tickets for TD. He has the same taste in air travel as he does in cars.

Yeah I was only half joking. Every time look for redemptions on United I come away wishing I was Canadian. Then I think about the taxes and I'm ok again. Someday I'll want that 70k offer. Is it the one that is semi public if you have a Mileage plus number to input into the link?
