my last increase with capital one was on 5/17/16. i am getting close to the 6th month mark to hit the luv button. does the clock start by the day for 180 days since last increase or would it go to 11/17/16??? just wondering. also my last limit increase was for 1000.00, i've had the account for about a year and a half. my limit history has been 300 to 400, 400 to 750, 750 to 1750. just wondering what the next bump may be?? any help is appreciated. my score is close to 650 and my utilization is around 25 percent overall which will go down when all my limit increases hit my reports and that will lower my utilization even more. ps this is a quicksilver one card

Capital One was my first card when I started rebuilding ($500 limit). Now after 7 years plus it's at $2250 and the lowest of all my limits. I've asked for credit lines in the past and the most recent excuse they gave me was I don't make enough in minimum payments. What? I either pay it off in full every month or let $2.00 ride and have an a low 800 FICO across the board. That's my experience , for what it's worth.

What would be considered "heavy usage"?

I have a $300 limit and charge as much as I can, I've been putting $1200-$1500 a month on the card. (Charge $300 -- PIF, Repeat, Repeat, Repeat)

Since the charges are in 'Pending" status for a few days and then it takes a couple days for the payment to clear -- $1500 is the most I can process through the card each month.

Capital One was my most frustrating experience with a credit company. After getting their $300 secured card to start credit rebuilding, it took almost 2 years for an unsecured increase of $750 - only after contacting them multiple times.

After 30 months of perfect payment history, they refused to upgrade my card to a gold for the same amount. So I contacted the executive office and asked them to cancel. They cancelled it and now it is showing they had upgraded me to the gold card and THEN cancelled it. I don't understand the company at all.

I would call the EO back and try to get the card reopened.

Yep! Emailed the EO yesterday explaining the reason for the closure and asking why the card would have been upgraded without my knowledge. I've read a few posts where people said they refused to reopen and stated to open a new account so we will see.
