collection notice - debt too old

I received a notice from a collection agency. Towards the end of the notice it says "Because of the age of your debt, we will not sue you for it, and we will not report it to any credit reporting agency."

It also says that if I do not dispute within 30 days, they will consider the debt valid.

I don't believe the debt is mine. Do I even need to worry about this since they are saying themselves the debt is too old.

Nothing to worry about! Send them a FOAD letter.

is it a Collection agency or a Junk debt buyer and do you know the difference?

if it's too old, odds are a JDB owns your account now.

what state are you in?
