I have been staying away from Chase mainly due to hearing about the 5/24 rule and the fact that I have a boatload of inquiries already. I decided last week to throw caution to the wind (again) and apply for the Chase Southwest card, for the bonus of course. Instant approval $18,000. Yesterday, I hit the button for the Chase Hyatt card, and got another instant approval $21,000. These cards became my 16th and 17th cards in the past 24 months. Go figure...

5/24 mainly doesn't apply to the co-branded cards.

It also has to do with new accounts, not inquiries.

BB, I think almost all co brand except Ritz, AARP and Disney are now under 5/24.

The following are not affected by 5/24:

  • AARP
  • Amazon
  • British Airways
  • Disney
  • Fairmont
  • Hyatt
  • IHG
  • Marriott business card
  • Ritz-Carlton

... .

Oh, Jeebus, now you just inspired me to apply again. I was so trying to exercise self restraint. :(
'The heck you apply for?

The following are not affected by 5/24:

AARP

Amazon

British Airways

Disney

Fairmont

Hyatt

IHG

Marriott business card

Ritz-Carlton

I'm so freaking bored I applied for the Shell Drive for 5 card.

Now that I see there are potentially 8 Chase cards I can apply for, I might go off the deep end.

Is it sad that I have 4/9 of those cards currently and have had 6/9 of them at one point? 😅

Not sad at all. :)

Now I have 3 of them. The AARP is a keeper. I have the no AF Disney. That will be a CLI on another card soon. The Amazon I've had many years.

I wonder, can get the AF Disney if I already have the no AF version? I gave an Amazon joint with my wife. Can I get another in my name alone?

Nothing else they have interests me or else has an AF. I don't want to gyp them out of the AF on a card I'll just use as a CLI in a little while.

I don't know personally as I don't have a banking relationship with Chase (no branches here).
