What can I do with my spouse's SPG, which is almost a year old?

I don't want to pay the AF and I don't want to cancel.

Options? I think it's too new to PC, but I'm not sure.

Don't think you can PC an SPG. You CAN shift the credit line

PC'd my BofA Business blah blah low APR card to a Cash Rewards that gets 3% on office supplies. We don't have a PC thread so I guess I'll throw that in here.

It's his only Amex.

We bought a washer and dryer with it when we were working on the minimum spend, and if we cancel, the 2x warranty goes away.

Thanks for this thread, hege.

While you were busy starting the thread, I was on the phone with Citi. PC'd my 21 year old AT&T Universal Rewards World MC to a Double Cash card.

awesome! my spouse has an AT&T card older than that. Last time (few years ago) Citi said it could not be PC'd. I'll have to get her to call again.

They had a promo for 2x SPG's on $10K spend. It appeared it was targeted on cards with approaching AF's.

Citi didn't allow me to pc a ThankYou Premier to Double Cash. It was 10.5 months old, and believe they really want me to pay the annual fee at least once.

The "ORIGINAL" rewards card

She rattled off all the "benefits" I would be giving up...things I long since forgot about and that no longer matter. Like 2 free directory assistance calls per month LOL

Lots of issuers dont want to screw with cards under a year old. I appears to be related in some manner to the CARD Act.

My understanding is the ATT card was the original rewards credit card.

Start calling the retention line.

FYI, I was only charged $65 on SPG Biz #1 even though the AF went up. Almost like my old AF was grandfathered.

I'm no expert, but it Sounds like that could be true. I remember it had rewards of some kind originally, but then they switched it to the Thank You points like the rest of their rewards cards.

I plan to do that. I've been practicing my Turkish accent.
