Paid OC per WhyChat method but they're refusing to delete

Hi WhyChat,

I followed your guide; CRA verified the medical debt and the OC, paid the OC for the original amount via cashier's check, saw that they cashed it & sent letters to both CRA for verification and requested to OC to have CA delete.

OC came back twice saying they are not obligated to and that I'm "wrong" about the HIPAA process.

CRA is only TU as it's showing up as closed medical collection (and for awhile since 2015). TU hasn't responded yet and is in the 30-day queue.

Do I just wait for TU's response hoping they'll delete if not go with the guide and file a complaint with both CRA & OC after TU doesn't delete?

I do not see your original thread.

Did you follow the guides??

If all you did was to dispute and then pay the OC based on the "CRA verification" then you likely threw your $$ away.

What was the date of the medical service??

All you can do now is to send the medical DV to the reporting CA

http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html

and send the follow up dispute to the CRAs

http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html#DISPUTE

You can't file a complaint against the OC as they likely have NO relationship to the reporting CA.

Is this the part I missed?

If the accounts are verified AND you receive a response FROM THE REPORTING CA ( Collection Agency) with account details that MATCH your records, you can then pay the ORIGINAL CREDITOR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER directly using the HIPAA letter insert "a", be sure to follow ALL the directions

I assumed that CRA responding establishing the relationship was enough but you're right I apparently missed this step :(

Yes. The CRAs who "verified" didn't do anything to actually verify except match names and addresses.

You missed 90% of the program.

Somehow I've been doing this all wrong and few CA's have deleted.

Okay I need to go back and really do my homework. Thanks WhyChat :)
