Just a heads up - You better copyright it, or you will see it for sale on Amazon. Seriously. You would be amazed at what people will do. Most credit advice could be considered to be in the public domain, since there are so many message boards and blogs. They ignore the work you put in organizing the information, and writing so it is communicated clearly.

 

Or publish it on Amazon yourself, put it in the free books.

This I couldn't agree with more. Anyone can take information from a free forum read research and publish to make money.

 

Otoh I believe in paying it forward. The infornation I learn here I often provide as free advice and tell people to join CB.

You don't have to file a formal copyright on something that you write to make it yours. But, it makes it easier in court (if needed) if you do.

 

Also, don't be surprised when some MF'er tries to sue you for copyright infringement. That seems to be how they roll.

I should add, if I do:

 

1. I'll need volunteers to help proofread and provide comments on drafts of sections of or the complete document;
2. I will view it as supplementing, not replacing or competing with, extant guides (e.g., Psychdoc's ) ;
3. It may contain references to sex robots, flower deliveries to CRAs, and cats;
4. it will omit topics I know little about (e.g., medical collections);
5. It will be distributed free and far.

I'm all for a Credit Repair Guide from hegemony. I agree with the others who said to get it copyrighted. You should be able to pre-register your work before you distribute or published it.
