Security Freeze Question

Does anyone know if a security freeze will prevent the various entities from providing the monthly FICO's being offered (Barclay, Discover, Walmart, DCU, etc).?

I'm thinking maybe the credit card companies can still pull through a freeze since there is already an existing relationship, but maybe not with credit unions like DCU and PSECU.?

Companies that you have accounts with can still do a soft pull.

Also, credit monitoring and scoring companies (like Credit Karma) can continue to do soft pulls. Many will even tell you if there is a freeze on your account. The only anomaly I've found is with Credit.com. They will not give me updates for Experian with a frozen file.

The other odd thing is that Experian will add you to the opt-out database if you freeze your file which means you will stop getting pre-approved offers.

I have a freeze on my EQ and still get DCU FICO every month

Do you have a credit product with DCU or just checking/saving.?

I have a credit card and a car loan with DCU

your current creditors, including owners of bad debt, can still pull your reports.

I am sorry to hear about your ID theft.

No ID theft, just been thinking about the advantages and disadvantages of a freeze.
