FICO drop 20 points after making payment

Score from myFico. EQ dropped 20 points from 609 (lowest) after I paid and balance for Walmart card is at $3,300 of $3,500 limit. I'm looking to pay this down to at least 30% util as soon as I can after my two other cards but is this normal?

 

Overall utilization of my cards are around 42% with four cards that are 80-85% utilization each.

it dropped because your UTIL is to high that Walmart card is pretty much Maxed out lower your UTIL and your scores will rebound.

segmentation when you have high utilization on individual cards and overall can result in modest changes. 20 points is not a major change within a segment.

Mine dropped 44pts today on cct. Nothing new on report or any changes. 12% UT no alerts or anything

The thing is its been close to maxed out status for months now so was puzzled as to why it dropped now so much.

some older versions of FICO had a penalty for windfall payments; I'm not sure newer versions do.

"Segmentation" is an older term. Many people now use the terms "buckets" or "rebucketing". FICO itself uses the term "scorecards".

"bucket" is the term used on consumer boards but segmentation and scorecard are used by people in the industry (not just FICO; internal scores are segmented too )
