US Bank pre-approvals, person 365 Amex (not really interested), and Business Edge Cash WEMC (somewhat interested, love these hidden tradelines, and another 15 months 0% APR card can come in handy from time to time).

Anybody know if the Business Edge Cash is any good for long-term use? I already have a business edge platinum floating a balance for a few months, which is more surprising that they are offering me more credit while I technically owe them money...

I do pause when I see an offer for this card, with multiple quarterly categories that pay 3% (capped).

Then I remember that I always get 2.625% back on general spending (when redeemed against travel purchases) with no limits on my Bank of America Travel Rewards card and I decide it isn't worth it.

I'm not sure what I've gotten in the mail. Been out of town all week on business. DW says I have a pile of mail. Says some of it feels like credit cards. I asked her to open those and tell me what's inside. She won't tell me........I feel like a child waiting for Christmas morning. Lol.

This card is pretty good. They do have some different categories compared to the rotating category cards, so I think I would just pick the same category every quarter and use the card only for that. I might go for this one of these days.

With a $2k quarterly cap, you stand to gain a maximum of $30 annually over your BOA if you max out the cap.

I can see how a family that favors cash back would find this card attractive for at least some of its spending.

It looks like you can only choose one category for 3%, which significantly diminishes the utility, and explains why some people would have five of these cards.

Practically speaking I would almost never spend $2,000/quarter on the Voice card on any of these 3% categories, considering I have better cards for some of the categories that I hit pretty hard, like travel... so I'd probably never realize the +$30/year.

  • Travel / entertainment (mainly spending is airfare and hotels - I'd use Amex Platinum for 5X MRs on airfare; I stay almost exclusively at Marriott properties and I would use the Chase Marriott for 5X at Marriott; I have 5% back on car rentals with US Bank Cash+; we have almost $0 "entertainment" spending)

  • Home improvement (very low spending)

  • Gas stations (I'd use BOA Cash Rewards for 5.25%)

  • Grocery stores (I'd use BOA Cash Rewards for 3.5%)

  • Utilities (almost none of ours can be paid with a credit card without a fee that would wipe out most/all or more of the rewards)

  • Office supply stores (very little spending)

  • Restaurants (has potential on relatively low spending when Discovery and/or Chase Freedom don't have 5%)

  • Apparel stores (very little spending)

  • Discount stores (very little spending)

  • Pharmacies (very little spending)

  • Sporting goods stores (zero spending)

  • Walmart (almost zero spending)

  • Department stores / electronics stores (very little spending)

My replacement Blue Cash Preferred after my Starbucks account got hacked, my brand new Marriott Rewards card, a coupon for Crate & Barrel that was supposed to go to my neighbor, and a notice from California DMV stating that my registration renewal was not processed because I didn't provide them with proof of insurance despite the fact that it was in the exact same envelope as the check I wrote them (which they happily deposited).

Besides the 15 months 0% APR on purchases, my offer also has $500 cash back after $4500 spend in the first 150 days. Your offer probably does too. All that makes it worth getting for me.
