A neighbor has gone around hanging flyers on everyone's doors.

"Don't be a victim of the pandemic. Claim your financial independence now! Unlimited growth potential"

I wonder how many have spent their stimulus checks or unemployment checks on MLM opprotunities.

I have to fess up that in my quest to maximize purchase cashback, the PayPal wallet/5% cc cb category match have been a total blind spot.  (Of course, I've also admitted to only acquiring a smart phone in the last month! ... my "form factor" requirement having been satisfied by the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.)

Time for me to play catch up!

So far so good with Discover cash back IT card. All the 5% cash back is acknowledged in the posted transactions and the math works.

1. Chase Sapphire Preferred convenience checks with 0% APR for 12 months. 4% transaction fee! Checks must post before 9/30/2021 and not exceed $15,000 or they will be declined.

2. First National Bank of Omaha convenience checks with 4.99% APR for life of balance. 2% transaction fee. If the check posts after 10/31/1021, the transaction fee increases to 5%, but they will still honor it. There is no mention of a maximum amount, presumably credit limits will apply.

Not email, but I get the strangest pop-up ads such as this one selling software to help you run a process server business tracking all the servers you have and their attempts/failures. Also got an ad for multi-megawatt, 100 Kilo-volt, power transformers. Talk about a narrow market.

Might be of some interest to those trying to avoid service to see how these guys operate.

Not mail related, but delivery related...

This morning I ordered some batteries from Best Buy (my pepper grinder takes 4 AAs and I only had 3 on hand... and I can only go so long without putting pepper on something).

I was expecting the delivery tomorrow, but here is the actual chronology:

 9:35 a.m. - Order confirmed

10:19 a.m. - Order shipped

10:30 a.m. - Package delivered

Wow, that's fast! Better than one of my packages that originated in Florida, went to Guam, then Hawaii, then to me in Washington state. All that only took two weeks.

"Rooting Hormone"

< @cv91915 -- this is shooting fish in a barrel ... don't bother ;) >

ordered from an eBay seller (it's getting better, huh?) last night at 7:30p.  Free shipping.  Showed up via USPS parcel delivery at 2p today!

(Anyone know how to locate an eBay seller just so that I'm aware whether there's another pervert in this neighborhood ??)

Got a notice on my antique Bank Atlantic Biz Card that a credit of $50 was being posted, ostensibly due to checks not cashed (or perhaps not sent) related to rewards on the card.  Oh, and that it would now be an account viewable from other Juny log-in...but if I had no other Juny/Barclays account, I would need to create a new log-in.  A different notice advised me that they would no longer be honoring convenience checks on the account...not that I recall ever having had any mailed to me.

Sorry, that's probably not the right word, I just meant that it's not a "real" AMEX

"licensed" is probably as good a term as any.  But it's redundant when you name the issuer and "Amex" in the same descriptor.  "WF Propel World American Express" says it all.

btw, I only now became aware that Propel was issued in 3 different flavors (Propel, Propel 360, and Propel World), each issued on the Amex payment network.  Guess I've had blinders on (intentionally or unintentionally, I'm not sure).

      REMINDER!
      Account Status 05 (Account transferred)
      to become obsolete for reporting
      Effective April 2022

As noted within Exhibit 4 (Account Status Codes) in the Credit Reporting Resource Guide (CRRG®) since 2020, Account Status 05 (Account Transferred) will become obsolete for reporting in April 2022.

Refer to the Transferred category within Exhibit 6 for a list of Special Comment Codes that should be used instead of Account Status 05. Refer to Frequently Asked Question & Answer 46 for guidance on reporting transferred accounts, and to Frequently Asked Question & Answer 47 for guidance on reporting sold accounts.

All guidance that relates to accounts being transferred or sold has previously been updated to advise that the Account Status should be reported as of the time of transfer or sale so no further updates will be made to existing CRRG® FAQs (46 & 47) as a result Account Status 05 being retired.

The Metro 2® Task Force recommends that data furnishers transition away from reporting Account Status 05 as soon as possible.

If there are any questions, please e-mail metro2info@cdiaonline.org.

      Thank you,
