So what did you get in the mail today?

Received an explanation for the denial of Bev's application for a US Bank Cash + card.

We had anticipated that "excess installment obligations" would be cited, since we're carrying two mortgages right now, in the midst of a relocation.

Instead, it cited excess recent inquiries.  There were 5 such inquiries, 4 of which were associated with mortgage shopping (all pulled by "FACTUAL DATA"), and 1 pull by "VERIZON WIRELESS" (conversion of a former business phone to a personal line).

So, I'm going to have her call Monday to recon the app.  I wouldn't be surprised if they come back and deny on the mtg debt, but what the h.

Surprisingly, license plates for my new car.

As mentioned previously, buying my car happened (surprisingly) on the day New York began shutting down.

I left through a mildly concerned metro area, and discussed waiting with the dealership, but it was not amenable, so I went. I drove back through a city going into lockdown by and large ... we saw two masks driving in, and dozens driving back.

The dealership, which was entertaining a three days later purchase, closed immediately thereafter, indefinitely. There were no plans to close when I finally left at 7 that night.

The national company has not been able to answer my question about plates, and the DMV is also effectively shut. I had no idea if I was supposed to use my old plates or what.

So this answers that question.

New PenFed Worthless Rewards™ Visa to replace my current one that's about to expire.

Public Service Announcement / Reminder:

Leave it to a credit union to release a card with a 1/3/5 points structure that underperforms a flat 1% cash back card when used for routine spending.

HINT: the points aren't worth 1 cent each, and the points are on a rolling expiration schedule, making them slow to accumulate in value and difficult to ever redeem.

I got one last week. First for me also.

LOL! HSBC must be getting desperate if they’re sending me offers.

If it wasn’t for all the preapproval offers and BT checks I wouldn’t get mail but maybe once or twice a year.

Still thinking about opting back out to save another tree but that might cause that darn dog to start eating my house again.

      Account Status 05 (Account transferred)
      to become obsolete for reporting
      Effective April 2022
As noted within Exhibit 4 (Account Status Codes) in the Credit Reporting Resource Guide (CRRG®) since 2020, Account Status 05 (Account Transferred) will become obsolete for reporting in April 2022.
Refer to the Transferred category within Exhibit 6 for a list of Special Comment Codes that should be used instead of Account Status 05. Refer to Frequently Asked Question & Answer 46 for guidance on reporting transferred accounts, and to Frequently Asked Question & Answer 47 for guidance on reporting sold accounts.
All guidance that relates to accounts being transferred or sold has previously been updated to advise that the Account Status should be reported as of the time of transfer or sale so no further updates will be made to existing CRRG® FAQs (46 & 47) as a result Account Status 05 being retired.
The Metro 2® Task Force recommends that data furnishers transition away from reporting Account Status 05 as soon as possible.
If there are any questions, please e-mail metro2info@cdiaonline.org.
