Although not obvious from their online membership form, Nusenda FCU is an open membership CU. If you pay $10 to become a member of the NM Wilderness Alliance or La Montanita Food Co-op, you are eligible for membership. Call 800-347-2838 to join through an organization.

Let's not CB Effect this into the ground today.

Yes, but if you are following a cash back strategy like many here (not me), you should have all of the 5% cards. With groceries in Q1 and restaurants in Q2 and Q4, it seems like a good card to add to a cash back portfolio.

I am a member and have this card. They are a unicorn puller (use EX Vantage) and are conservative. They don't like to see a lot of available credit. I had to start with a non-rewards card and work my way up to PC. Just PCd 2 weeks ago after having the card for 9 months. This is with a 18 year history with this CU, 2 auto paid loans with perfect payment history, and never once over drawn my accounts. They were my primary banking institution for most of that 18 years. (They use to be New Mexico Educators FCU).

Hope this data helps some people looking into this CU

It is on the list of CB cards, though it is listed as NMEFCU as it only changed to Nusenda about a year ago.

I have a couple of 10k TLs and the rest are between 6-8k (excluding my 2k store card) They started me with a $500 CL. At about 6 months they auto increased to 4.5k. When I PCd the card they bumped it up to an even 5k. Hasn't reported yet, so I don't know if they opened a new TL or truly PC'd the card yet, the CSRs hadn't a clue what I was asking when I asked about it.

Well, the UWs didn't like to see so much available credit, but I do have a very low income, so maybe they were more conservative with me than they would be with others. They told me that I might need to close some accounts if I wanted more credit with them when I first applied. That being said, though, they did auto CLI me after 6 months. I had used the card twice. Once at the dollar store for $1.07 to test the card, and once for a $0.50 Amazon gift card to see if they would write off an amount under $1. They didn't BTW :P

I'm not familiar with FNBO as I never was all that interested in their products I never researched them much.

Typical. Rules out a good number of most CBers...

:good:

That's a shame. It sounds like a great cash back card to mix in with the other 5% cards.

I would argue that FNBO is not conservative in the least.

In less than two years my FNBO Amex has gone from $4100 -> $24,550 from SP and auto CLIs alone.

I think Juggz should GP this to see if new accounts and inquiries are really an issue.

Not interested

You sure?

After all you did get the Carrier Visa.

LOL!

I suppose everything is relative. My profile then supported $4100, it supports ~ $25k now. Not everyone has the file or income to garner a $50k limit out of the gates.

If it's a no AF card with capped category limits, who cares about the credit limit AZ long as it's $2K so you can smash the categories quickly?

Smash, PIF, get your $75 and change, sock drawer till the next quarter.
