I settled with them for a third of the amount and was all square. Bad credit for 5 years but am now back with excellent credit and living a great normal life....and a good customer of Amex. They know it gets a few articles and burnishes the AMEX reputation about chasing deadbeats. The end result will be the same though. I doubt AMEX will collect anything. The judgment will result in $0.00 collected, just like 85% of all similar judgments. These people don't have much earning potential and they live off of handouts from the parents. What I do know is that even though she's an adult and made this mess herself - her parents didn't do her any favors. Maybe now that she's got some tough love from her mother, she may straighten out. Speaking purely from a more ...neanderthal perspective, she's pretty darned attractive. I'm all for having kids, but that's just irresponsible.
