terrible news: Cash still king for many consumers

...and to title this "Terrible News" .. is a little melodramatic, right? I think it's all very individual, YMMV sort of thing. I still carry some cash and ALWAYS will..

 

I do think places like Aldi's and Winco SHOULD take credit cards and charge the 3% (or whatever) fee back to the person who wants to use their plastic credit --- not pass along the CC costs to ALL of the shoppers.

They DO take cards, they take DEBIT cards with a PIN. So it isn't just 'paper money'.. aka cash.

 

CC acceptance must be a huge, substantial cost to the stores or they would go that route.

Those cards are yucky. Except the Discover Debit.

I like Aldi for certain things, but I do think they should take CCs. Maybe some OM MGC on special on the Ink Plus can help.

I just discovered this weekend that our Aldis stores have started taking credit cards. I'm thrilled that my favorite grocery store will now earn MR points.
