terrible news: Cash still king for many consumers

...and to title this "Terrible News" .. is a little melodramatic, right? I think it's all very individual, YMMV sort of thing. I still carry some cash and ALWAYS will..

 

I do think places like Aldi's and Winco SHOULD take credit cards and charge the 3% (or whatever) fee back to the person who wants to use their plastic credit --- not pass along the CC costs to ALL of the shoppers.

They DO take cards, they take DEBIT cards with a PIN. So it isn't just 'paper money'.. aka cash.

 

CC acceptance must be a huge, substantial cost to the stores or they would go that route.

Those cards are yucky. Except the Discover Debit.

I like Aldi for certain things, but I do think they should take CCs. Maybe some OM MGC on special on the Ink Plus can help.

I just discovered this weekend that our Aldis stores have started taking credit cards. I'm thrilled that my favorite grocery store will now earn MR points.

I'm in NC with an Aldi down the street. I'll have to stop by and see if they now take CC.

I'm about three hours from Syracuse, so looks like they're expanding their trial for sure. I didn't notice if there was a fee added to my bill for using credit. I'll make sure to look next time.
