Corporate America Family CU - Targeted Calls

In this last week I have been shopping car refinances with credit unions who are specific to TU as that is my strongest score. I visited Corporate Family and Consumers website and I ultimately went with Consumers for an app which has worked out amazingly fantastic and I couldn't be happier!

 

Yesterday I got a call which showed up on caller ID as Corporate America Family CU and I let it go to VM as I was busy. It was them calling because they seen me going to their website and showing interest in joining. Right after the call I got an email saying the same thing and attaching a membership application. This morning I got another call but I was on the other line and couldn't click over. Again, the same person wanting me to join saying it's open enrollment. I am tempted to join just to see if I could run some spend through on a card to open the account and payoff the CC.

 

There is not much in CPDB on them so I wanted to see if anyone else has been targeted by them via phone after visiting the website. I just didn't think they would target their customers that way... but at the same time I think it's great that they are leveraging technology to grow their CU.

 

1. Has anyone join lately? If so, was it them targeting you like they are doing to me?

 

2. What were the offers like upon joining?

 

3. What was your SL if you got a card?

 

4. Do they use FICO 8 on TU?

i tried to join in OCT clean TU clean Chex they denied me membership TU fico was 740 10 INQ they sent letter and had TU checked as reason so i went backdoor and was viewing my CR so i called them up. they couldnt give me a reason told me to call TU i said for what report is clean if was INQ they could have said it. not impressed at all.

So they called me back again and I answered this time. They have a special of 7.60% plus relationship discount to consolidate debt. I pulled the trigger. They LO confirmed they use TU FICO 08. They said I had a 755 which would give me all of their best rates on all loan products. Great, let's get rolling baby... Next, they pull Chexsystems and then there is an error Z2 third party security frz. alert. This is where the amateur part starts to be put in play. They said they've never seen that before and their Risk Dept. cannot move forward until it's off my Chexsystems file. They gave me a number to call at Chexsystems and it's the # that they call in to Chexsystems with not the # for consumers. Then they also tell me that their Chexsystems rep doesn't know anything about it either.

 

So I am now on the hunt to find out what this damn error is and how to fix it. Google searches come up empty. I think Kat58 is searching as well. I have a hunch it's Sagestream as I remember vaguely freezing them. Othwerwise, Chexsystems consumer relations has confirmed that my Chexsystems file is not frozen and that there is no alert. Calling Sagestream is however useless as they do not answer the phone.

They denied me on Chexsystems too back in like Aug/Sept. I don't know what the actual code was. I never called Chex. I haven't bounced a check in at least 10 years and I haven't written a check in probably 5 years. I didn't bother with them after that. I had already been approved by PenFed, DCU, and Alliant.

Penfed doesn't want to play ball with me since I was branded an Egyptian. Unfortunately, they opened some stupid flowers thrifty account which reports as revolving. I guess the upside to the thrifty account is the free Nexgen EQ score which was 717 on the last update.

 

Did you have Sagestream (IDA) froze?

I only had EX frozen when I applied. Now Chex is frozen too. Go the confirmation letter last week.

So Sagestream was froze. Thawed it permanently. Let's see if that us what us triggering that 3RD PARTY SECURITY FRZ. ALERT.

 

I told them to pull Chex again and find out. We'll see I guess.

Will do. I just got an email back that they are going to try to repull Chex again. If it's not Sagestream I will keep trying until I find out. Part of me feels like it's a coin toss on whether it's Sagestream causing this or not. The only thing that makes me feel like it might be is that the comment said 3RD PARTY. I will probably hear back from them this afternoon.
