Who is it with? From what I see the EX shows Dofd as being July 2009 meaning you can call and have it removed as too old from EX in April. The EQ one will remain until Oct 2016.

Now what you should do depends on what your plans are and your risk factor. You could dispute these again and hope they drop off. Waiting is the much safer route at this point though unless you just really need to get them off your reports now.

Thanks for your feedback! The repo is paid off, so there is no risk of them coming after me. Chase repo my car after failing to pay my last payment of the loan ($800). Lesson learned...

I was not talking about the risk of them coming after you for the debt. The bigger risk is them updating in a negative fashion causing your reports to look worse. It happened to me, had a repo in a BK and VW updated as past due with a balance, Been a two year battle and they refuse to remove or update.

  • 2 weeks later...

Update: I disputed online with Equifax. My reason was "Never been late". I got this response a week later "We have researched the credit account. Account # − xxxxxxxx* The results are: There is no historical account information currently on this account. This item has been deleted from the credit file. If you have additional questions about this item please contact: Chase Auto, PO Box 901003, Ft Worth TX 76101−2003 Phone: (800) 336−6675".

Now to dispute it on Experian... Debating on calling them vs writing letter. They've barred me from disputing it online.

Congrats on the removal. So EQ dropped the entire tradeline and not just the lates?

I'd highly suggest writing EX over calling them.

I know! Thank you! I never thought this day would ever come. Glad I was persistent... For anyone reading this and struggling to fix their report, don't give up! If you hit a roadblock, take a break then come back to it later. Don't ever give up!
