I just got approved for 5,000 with NFCU!!! My highest limit right now is $500 with USAA and lowest $200 with Capital One. I just can't thank CB enough. I am on my way! :yahoo:

Congrats! :good:

Yup...NFCU is very generous with their CLs. DW had low 600 FICOs and apped for some new cards. Cap One gave her $600. NFCU gave her $10K.

Thanks!

Wow, that is generous. 10K would be nice but I wouldn't want to push my luck, although it's rather tempting lol. No, but seriously with my scores, I'm content. Now I can do some real gardening.

Congrats!!!!

The only way I will ever get in is if a cu I belong to is merged with Navy. I served in the Navy in the 80's, never even new of the CU back then. Oh well...

Very cool that your limit is good. You're on your way.

Retired military can get it too. Do honorable discharges not count as retired military? honestly curious

Than you!

I don't understand that part of the membership requirements, I would think that would qualify you. Hopefully their policy will change.

I had my eyes closed as it was processing and damn near fell out of my chair when I saw "You are approved!". I didn't believe it until I received a text saying the same. Then when I saw the limit, I lost it lol. I thought it would take me much longer to get a limit like that.

Not enough to get in with 4 years service.

I just got approved for 5K with NFCU!!! My highest limit right now is $500 with USAA and lowest $200 with Capital One. I just can't thank CB enough. I am on my way! :yahoo:

They are also generous with CLI. I'd use it every month and wait until you get a CLI before applying for any other cards.

Yup...and always ask for $25K when you request a CLI. They will counter if you don't qualify for the full $25K. :good:

My mom got in a couple years ago based on being a retired civilian fed employee. Her first year of civilian service she worked for dept of the army. She thinks there was a checkbox for retired DOD employee. The other 24 years she worked for a non military gov agency. They never asked her for docs. Then my dad got in based on her, as did I (six months ago, no dox required). She doesnt know what they could have verified based on info that may be available to them. Be interesting to see if this still works.

Congrats on the approval! That first $5k card feels pretty damn good. Now you've got your pry bar. Let it age and don't ever close it. You'll be at $25k in no time and you'll scoff when someone approves you for $5k.

Thank you and I giggled at that line. I'm all jumping up and down now, but after a while I'll be all snooty booty (something my kids think is hilarious from Happy Feet) about my appovals.
