So, im looking at financing an older car (Corvette c5). The loan i am looking for on this is between 15-18k. I currently finance my car through wells fargo and it is a 2009 g6. The g6 will soon be paid off and I will use it as a backup car or a winter beater car. When i purchased the g6 it was 15k.

My lender wells fargo told me at the time of purchase (about 4 years ago) that they only finance cars 5 years old and newer. Since i am almost to have this car paid off I went to talk to my personal banker 6 months ago at wells fargo and asked him about financing an older car. He told me 6 months ago that under no circumstances including excellent credit or a large amount down will they ever finance a car older than 5 years.

So I am looking for lenders for car of this type. I checked with my local credit unions and I only found CU that will go back to 2005 on a car. I cannot seem to find any lenders willing to go older than 2005 (even local Credit unions).

Any and all positive replies are welcomed. Thanks in advance.

You won't find any lender willing to do that on such a old car but not really a antique.. Personal loan or cash.

I don't know my vet prices but $16k for a 15 old car seems high.

A personal loan or line of credit is your best option when purchasing an older vehicle. Wells Fargo also offers a PLOC with a nice initial credit limit (depending on your credit history of course). You should take advantage since you already have an account with them.
