Citi Soft CLI link Master Thread

Couple of notes and a question.

1. Couldn't get the link to work in Chrome: page pulls up properly but once I try to log in it says page cannot be found. I can log into Citi in Chrome without issue through standard access.
2. Was able to log in with the link above in IE (shudder). Got SP verbiage.
3. I was declined for a SP CLI by Citi in June and have them on my list to retry in December. Any risk in retrying now, or should I wait another 3 months as scheduled?

Strange.

Just checked again, and even though I received a CLI on both cards about two weeks ago it still says "It's easy to find out if you qualify for a credit limit increase. A credit bureau report will not be requested and you will receive an instant decision."

I always use the link for "Request a credit limit increase" under the "Account Maintenance" tab.

 

I received the same thing on my AA Platinum even though they gave me a CLI a few months ago. It was denied, and I'm sure the letter with cite the recent CLI.

I'm sure you are correct. A couple of times I was a day or two early of the six-month mark and got that reason as a denial. The good thing is you can redo it a week or so later after you've hit 6 months and it will be ok. They don't hold the attempt against you.

My experience is that they don't hold the attempt against you.

There's no harm in trying. If they do deny you, make sure to use their letter to get a free credit report.

I can't get any increases from Citi w/o a HP. I have the SP language on all of my cards, but keep getting this response:

 

You currently have the maximum amount of credit we will allow without your consent to obtain and review an updated credit report. This decision was based on a review of all of your accounts issued by CItiBank, including Visa, MasterCard, store cards and gas cards."

 

This means "no soup for you!" LOL

And this alone is reason enough to give it a go: I need a paper EQ to try last ditch effort dispute, and I'd much rather pay for it with a soft than with $11

I have 5 right now, with a total of $53k in limits.

25K to 31K on my Hilton Hhonors card and 7K to 9K on Double Cash card with a $3900 balance reporting at the 0% intro. The cards have different logins.

Nice! That extra $2K on the Double Cash has that card reporting under 50% now. Pay off $350 more to get it under 40% and you should see a little score boost I would think.

I have never asked Citi for a CLI before. I called them a few years back to notify them that I was travelling and was informed they could increase my limit 1K from 15K to 16K. Used the link just now and got a soft pull bump 3K up to 19K on my Citi Dividend card.

 

It is my only Citi card at the present time. I am a little leery of Citi. At the time of the banking crisis they reduced one of my cards from 20K down to 2K. So we will see what unfolds over the next year or so with these big banks if things go South in a big way.

Chrome works fine in an incognito window, in case others are having problems too.

I just hit them up and got an instant denial. Has been a little over 2 months since my last CLI.

 

In the interest of full disclosure, I did get a large CL CitiBidness AA card recently that I haven't even activated.

I used the link last month with success on two accounts (within the same login).

 

26,800 bumped to 28,800

and

11,600 bumped to 13,300

 

My first increases from Citi in quite some time.

Iced or thawed reports have any affect?

I just received a soft cli (AAdv) from the link Konrad posted, through ice, for +1200. No CLI link was visible on my online account management. Now 5200. Opened the card on 5/3. This is the first CLI on this card. Heavy use. The approval was instant.

I went through the link. Said it had to be referred to a credit specialist? Not sure what that means but it wasn't a hard pull!

Most recent attempt was denied, said I have to wait 6 months from the last CLI. Soft pull verbiage.

Tried a couple of days ago via SP verbiage on my DC account. Increased from $4000 to $5200. This was my third attempt since getting the card in February with no go both times citing a collection on my report so I'm happy with the $1200. I do have a balance transfer on it that is now under $1000.

Tried on 2 different citi accounts.

 

Both had the "A credit bureau report will not be requested..." text

 

Got eh "We regret to inform you that we cannot approve your request..." on both accounts -- 18 mo old 2x Cash and a 12 month old Hilton.

 

On a related note, I read somewhere on the interwebs about somebody getting a generous Citi soft pull CLI by calling on on the morning of Black Friday. So that may be another experiment.
