Citi Soft CLI link Master Thread

Recommended Posts

Citi is so bizarre to me! I can't get a CLI on my Simplicity card even though it's been 6 months... maybe because there were a couple months that statements didn't cut because it was a zero balance and no activity? ...but they just approved me for a $5k Thank You Preferred card.

I got CLI's on my Diamond Preferred and Double Cash card at three months.

You may be near a maximum exposure with them. Things slow waaay down once this happens.

I was bouncing off of that rev limiter with them, but now that the Hilton card is moved over to Amex, I'm hoping I can reclaim that available credit through CLIs on the remaining cards.

No rhyme or reason... they opened a Diamond Preferred for me at 10,500.. yet my Double Cash that I actually use, PIF monthly, and have had longer, is stuck at 2250.

+1

I feel better now. My DC is stuck at $3300.

I sure hope that's not the case. I only have $24,500 in credit with them at the moment.. lol!

And without getting CLI's, my life is meaningless. :cry2:

I got a CLI from them after 6 months, I think. Since then, they keep telling me that I've reached their limit without a hard pull. I should go ahead and let them do it, but honestly, none of my cards get much over $200 a month. I don't need an increase.

They've been good to me.

Me too. I built my Hilton Card up to $81,000. Then it got sold to Amex.

I have four cards with Citi, limits are as follows:

$8600

$9600

$5200

$10000

Been asking for CLI's for the last six months, no dice on the soft pulls. Each time for every account they are now requesting a hard inquiry. It seems that $88k in HHI with my current credit profile is tops they are willing to extend me. 3 out of the 4 cards get rare usage. DoubleCash sees regular usage and PIF.

Maximum exposure with Citi...

I think that's where I'm at with them. During my next thaw/freeze cycle, I'll try again and see if the hard pull will do what the soft pull hasn't done in a year.

Just hit the luv button via the link first page of this thread for the second time this year.

SP +8K from 18.5K to 26.5K.

Previous increase was 2K.

Difference has been usage, (up to 13K last month). Also, the card shows a balance of 3.5K today, whereas last time no usage for 12 months.

Perhaps Citi likes usage? Although, it's always PIF before monthly cycle closes.

Ok, 6 billing cycles have closed since I last hit Citi's "SP Luv Button".

Hit it again a few days ago. Same result as last August SP +8k.

Only card I have with Citi, (a DC originally opened as AA for SUB 3.3 years ago).

Same posted balance as before <4k, (BUT, card was sock-drawered for the previous 4 months due to being out of the country, don't take cards with Forex fees abroad).

Hope this doesn't encourage me to MS* this card more than I already do.

Just got a decline on TAD's AA Executive card, currently at $46,500.

Let's see what the letter says...

18K - 30K (requested amount)

Was not instant but no alert for a HP yet. I had an incident with Citi (100% their fault) a few months ago where I had to stop payment and now they hold my payments until they can verify it has cleared I applied while they payment was on hold (I didn't know it was on hold when I applied). So not sure why it wasn't instant could have been the payment hold or the amount requested.

I have several Citi cards. Have been getting the SP language on the luv button screen for several months and trying, getting denied for lack of 6 months since last auto CLI of $6K to $18K on each of DC and Costco cards. 6 months went by, so went for it again. Declined again. Reason being: at the maximum limit without HP. WTF? Is it worth the HP you think?

I've been getting $3,000 on each of two cards every six months for several years with only a SP. The six-month mark should be in a few days, but I tried a bit early and got the same crap as Hawaiigirl: "Maximum limit without HP. This includes all Citi cards including gas and commercial cards" or something like that. My total exposure with Citi is only $90k, counting a gas card.

I might let them have a hard; I'm thinking about it.

I'm right at $50K exposure. Still haven't gone for the HP, but might do that in the next month or so. I want to let a couple of new cards age first. Let us know what happens if you decide to go for it.

I'm leaning towards not going for it.

Several years ago I had an adventure with Citi over POI. Seems that in their extra-chromosomed-brain a military LES is not a pay stub. The analyst, adding insult to injury, claimed to be a current reservist and I went nuclear on him. A BBB complaint proved fruitless, but a highly toxic letter to my favorite senator got Citi to find religion. I'm not convinced that Citi doesn't have other inbred trash in their underwriting department. Although I love a good fight, right now there's too much going on that would prevent me from truly enjoying it. I'll give it a month until after my vacation and then get ready for another brawl.

You probably got a newbie. I would of escalated. What state were they in?

Not sure which state, but they were not overseas agents. It was an "underwriter" from their Citi Retail division.

Not sure if I posted it, but I did give the normal Citi people (Forward, DC etc) a hard pull and they gave me an extra $20k. Fast and efficient. Waiting to see if that will return me to the 6-month regular soft-pull CLI list.

Retail, says it all 🙊

It's fun when they give you the 'exposure' excuse, after they just transferred a ~$20k card to Amex...

Yes, I have noticed that with Citi. Strange.

It was a HP from EQ they said I overlooked the part where I had to confirm the pull...

After 2 years of asking to pull a report, I got CLI on both my Citi cards. 17 to 19K and 26.5 to 28.5K. I took it without HP>
