Went to pay for my Lasik with Discover/ApplePay for the 10% back.

They (the optical center) take ApplePay but their link with Discover and ApplePay is broken. *grumble grumble*

So I get on the phone with Discover - "Yes, we have a lot of links with several merchants that aren't working properly. May I speak with the rep that's helping you in store, so I can add them to our 'list' that we are actively working on fixing?"

So...Point being...Just because a merchant accepts Discover and ApplePay - Doesn't mean that your Discover ApplePay is going to work. :glare::rolleyes:

Complain to Discover, tell them you want the 1% cash back you would have earned at least, and that you want %0 APR for a year. If you are currently on a 0% APR, tell them you want it extend.

Disco is easy to push around

I asked the "supervisor" if she could just apply the 10% if I do a swipe.

The most she could do was $10.

How much did the LASIK procedure cost?

$3300

That's $726 in CB!!!

Did they say they will be fixing it anytime soon the AP?

Do you have until the end of December to wait it out?

Optometrist just called - He'll just discount the procedure $330. Guess that works, too!

I think it's still way too early to make any judgment calls about the 10% or not.

I also have a hard time believing that Disco would be at the forefront of anti-M$ activity. Other than Discover Deals, they have always basically been a 1% card except for the meager capped quarterly categories, so I cannot see how M$ would have ever been a big deal to them as opposed to AMEX, Chase, Citi, the legacy BofA 4% cards etc.

Well it looks like we got our answer. I just got 10 emails from Discover saying that GCs are excluded and they were able to point out all my WG purchases as excluded...HOWEVER, they did say they were giving credit for anything purchased prior to the 18th (the day the GC language was added). Each purchase had it own email and the ones that included the GC say they are giving credit as a courtesy blah blah blah. All the ones referencing purchases after the 18th just say you aren't getting it.

Oh well, at least I will get $440 out of the $2000 I got in before the change. Not the worst outcome.

Just wanted to add as a point of reference. I was able to get the full $1,100 out of the deal with a purchase made on the 19th. The difference with my transaction was I purchased 10k worth in one shot. Dunno if that matters.

Nice. Just got email saying as a one time courtesy I would get the CB for a purchase on 9/24 from WG.

Ah well.

Wow...that is surprising as they are generally only giving the "courtesy" to the purchases prior to the terms change on the 18th. I am holding out hope that my last $2,000 of spend gets it, as I have not gotten any emails on that as of yet.

My "one time courtesy" was from 9/25. :dntknw:

Now I'm scrambling to spend the $10K. :glare:

I wish I could find a furniture store that takes apple pay. We need a new living room set and getting 20% cash back would be a nice discount...anyone know of any (and I am not living in a college dorm so no Ikea or other similar discounted crap)

Macy's does sell furniture. (At least in NY) Are you near any?

We have Macy's here, but they don't take AP for furniture...
