Basically I went to the same WG every time, with 3 stops to an alternate by the office. In the one by my house, I was able to do at a minimum 2x$500, one VGC and one PPMC (their rule was 1 $500 of each GC type, although I was able to slip in a $1500 one time so it was not a POS lockout). In the alternate, they had a $500/day max per person. In every case I had to sign. Twice was asked for ID, once for the card and ID. They didn't ever check it against the card I used in AP (although it was a Disco). The first time I asked, and in future times I just went for what I knew would work to not rock the boat. One time I had a cashier early morning who looked like she didn't give a crap what I did, so I went for 3. The alternate I tried the 2x$500 and was shot down. Tried again the second day (diff cashier) and was shot down again so I just did $500 the last time.

 

Now just the waiting to see if I get the cash.

How often do you load with PPMC? I've read about shut downs. I recently signed up for the personal and business, just leery about proceeding.

You have to be smart about it. I loaded a total of $5500 over the last month. (max $4k in Sept and $1.5k in oct so far). One thing NOT to do is load and then withdraw to your checking account...that raises red flags. I have the biz debit card, and I use that to pay my rent as well as load my serve account (I still have the softcard version).

I have no idea why, but the location I went to yesterday was my first stop last month. The first time I didn't have to sign, the second time (yesterday) I did.

Got my Discover card and my iPhone and just tried to add cc to Apple Pay. Got message "Your issuer does not yet offer support for this card".

In the Learn More section, they list all of the eligible cards and, sure enough, Discover isn't on the list.

 

How are people working around this? Do I need to update something?

I am updating to latest iOS now. I should never have assumed that a brand new phone (to me, though it's not the "s". But it is "factory new") would have the latest software installed (by the sales reps when they do all the other transfer stuff, if not straight from the factory).

 

It's been a while since I've upgraded my phone (<<< my lame excuse :) ) so maybe I'm just old-school. (<<< Yes, I am).

The upgrade to latest iOS was successful - i tried and got message, so then rebooted. Tried again and still got that message. Checked the list under "learn more" and Discover still not there.

 

What now? Suggestions very welcomed ... :)

That was the only thing I could think of. I'd try searching online via the error message you are getting. I saw other similar reports, just no solutions. :dntknw:

When I woke up this morning, I noticed that there was yet another update available for my iOS. Another 30 minutes and problem is, I think, solved. It's certainly behaving differently, "talking to the card issuer" now.

 

I guess the updates have to be done sequentially, rather than just skipping to the latest.

2 WG transactions with iPhone 6 successful, had to sign both times. One thing I am a bit concerned about though, the first time using it the transaction was rejected due to fraud alert. No problem, got the text on my other phone, replied and the second transaction went through fine. WG manager voided the original transaction and started from scratch for the second.

 

However, there are 2 identical pending charges on my discover account currently. I'm hoping the original will just fall off, but not sure exactly what to do if it doesn't. Will wait and see I guess. This was from 3:00 PM yesterday and it's still on there this morning.

My two failed WG transactions on 10/2 showed in pending until yesterday 10/7. So five days.
