For the non-mathy among us. Purchase a new 5s 16g for $0 with contract. Use Apple Pay for 3 months, collect 10% cashback, ($1000 -$2000) sell used iPhone for (approx) $400 on eBay, pay early termination fee (approx $275)to cancel cell contract.

Another potential easy score. For those of you who pay rent, the service RadPad accepts Apple Pay. I am not sure if they still charge the 2.5% fee or not like they would for a regular CC (I emailed customer service on this and will post what I find out), but if they don't that should be an easy way to knock out a chunk of the $10K. Even if they do still charge the fee, that is a net 7.5% without having to leave your couch (or if you don't partake in the more common MS avenues)

So do you think this counts with the double cash back as well?

I'll be on the lookout for any exclusionary language but I don't see why not. They aren't going to go broke on it, only x amount of customers have the double cash back year and x amount of customers will use Apple Pay and x amount (like us) that will max out 10k.

I'm very hopeful.

I would love to see the analysis they did to determine that the benefit was greater than the cost...At 20%, it doesn't take much for this to turn into a 7 figure expense for them...
