Anyone encounter any issues with cleaning up their Chex reports?

Chex wants notarized statements from me about an address they say I gave them. It is a PO Box I no longer have.

Another street address they refuse to remove because a member bank reported it.

They really don't remove them and as you can see they want it notarized in writing... Not a good idea if you in fact have used that address.

I'm not going to press it. I'll take whatever they will remove to clean the report.

It would have been nice if they would have told me which bank reported it. There are three listed.

Unlike the big three CRAs, I don't think removing addresses in Chexsystems will help remove information. The reporting system is structured differently, particularly the way some banks and credit unions maintain a one-on-one and online connection with them.

Anyone had successful deletions with address removals?

It appears they will remove addresses when the TL or inquiry drops. They did delete one for me.

Similar to Experian, if the address is attached to something they appear to refuse. However unlike Experian's reports, they do not tell you who is reporting the information for you to follow-up with the creditor.

I don't actually have any negative information in Chex. I'm just trying to clean up old addresses.

Odd. I have never had ChexSystems ask me for a notarized statement.

I have had old addresses removed- simply because they were temporary-use or I simply did not want old ones appearing any longer. I would state that they were "errant". My mantra: the less people know about you- the better.

When writing Chex, I have always listed my Consumer I.D.Number as appearing on prior communications from them. They have always been nice to work with. Early Warning Services (EWS), not so much.

This said, if they want a notarized statement- go ahead and do it. A notary fee is usually only $10.00 or so.

Best,

M

In regards to 1st address. I have the he notarized statement.

The 2nd address: I would love to know which bank provided the address as they did not tell me who - only that they refuse to remove it.

They have been more obstinate with me than flexible.

When you do things like this you start playing with fire and could create issues for your self. If the address is yours especially on Chex just leave it alone don't try saying it's not yours when in fact it is yours. No reason to remove it.
