Hello everyone.

I'm an anxious newbie. My equfiax official Fico is 535 and I have one medical collection that I need to take care of before I tackle the other negative items(there are so many) on my reports.

So I mailed the pre hippa cra letter to equfiax and Experian via certified mail. The medical collection does not appear on my TU report. Mind you I did not put my email on the letter, but I received an email from Appladm. This is an equifax email address. This is what it says:

Should I select the online option?

Also, I have two judgements and about 9 CO to address and I want to get my old addresses removed. This medical collection did not happen at a previous address. Should I wait until EX AND EQ gets done with the pre hippa issue before asking them to delete addresses. I'm also a F E D employee who was affected by the O P M breech so could I mention that?

Welcome!

You absolutely DO NOT want to click that link - part of Why Chat's success is due to keeping us out of the automated systems, and agreeing to emails puts you in it. Don't do anything with the other "baddies" until you have removed the medical collection. What was the date of medical service? Does the amount being reported match the EOMB's from your insurance?

Make sure you are opted out and working from real reports, all instructions are here:

http://www.whychat.5.../GUIDEBOOK.html

Then carefully follow the HIPPA guide:

Update this thread with your progress and any questions, and Why Chat will guide you.

Good luck!!

Thanks kimbachelle! The date of medical service was Dec. 7,2013 and the reported amount does match my EOMB from my insurance.

If it is only on Eq. then you do not want to even THINK about paying anyone anything. Wait for your results on your medical dispute and then try to delete any old addresses on all reports that are from the time you defaulted on the charged off ( non medical) accounts and had the "judgement" placed.

Meanwhile you can start on the judgment issue WITHOUT disputing by following the instructions here:

http://www.whychat.5u.com/deletejudg.html

up to the point of sending the dispute letter for judgments.

What was the date of the charge-offs and judgment??

The medical collection appeared on equifax and Experian.

I have two judgements. One was unpaid rent filed 11/2010 and the second one appeared 3/2011. Actually asset acceptance sued me back in January 2010. I missed a few payments and they updated the record to being filed 3/2011.

Charge offs:

Capital one:9/13

Comenity: 8/14 paid in full

Comenity: 9/13

Credit first: 12/12 paid in full earlier this year

Syncb:2/13

Syncb:9/12

Syncb:3/13

Target credit 12/13

Collection accounts:

HW for delinquent rent placed for collection on 3/11 but the delinquency was 10/10 and I went to court in 11/10

Midland placed on 6/14 and says its a factoring company account

Catch LLC 9/12, 9/13 these dates differ on all three reports.

Look up your name in the records of RECORDED INSTRUMENTS, ( same as where deeds and mortgages are recorded) on your County Clerk's website. NOT the Court Case File.

Once you have gotten rid of the medical accounts, you can start on the judgments, once those are gone you can start on the other credit accounts. What exactly are the dates you are giving ?? Are they the dates the CA has them showing?? If they are accounts directly from the OCs, what do the CRA reports say is the removal date?? You should NOT dispute any accounts that are within your State's legal SOL as you WILL get sued.

I did see the court case files on the online judicial system. I'm still looking on my county court website. If this is correct it says I must go into the court to research and view the information. This is the area that has land records such as: federal tax liens, warranty deeds, trust deeds, power of attorney, etc.

I did locate the locate the info online.

The first item was filed 3/2011 and instrument type is FIFA. The next item filed 9/27/13 and the instrument type was cancellation. I'm assuming this is the asset acceptance judgement. The information online is limited, you have to pay a monthly fee or go directly to the clerk's office to see the documents :/

On another note, I received correspondence from Experian. It's basically telling me to allow 30 days from the date of my request or 45 days for disputes from annual free credit report.

You are STILL looking in the wrong place. You are accessing the Court case file records--- NOT the RECORDED INSTRUMENTS.

If you PM me your County and State I will send you the correct link.

***Update***

I received a response today from both equifax and experian. They both deleted the medical collection from my records.

The judgement issue. I was frustrated with the online search so I am going to resume again. Worst case scenario I will just go to the courthouse. I live fairly close.

Whychat you are awesome. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I still have some charge offs and some other badies to tackle. Like I said earlier the judgement issue has been frustrated but I know these things take time, so I will shake it off and get back to work. I'm so excited about my credit future. This board rocks!

Hey guys. When you are disputing old addresses that on your credit report, do you mail the dispute to the same address you mail the first hippa process letter?

Are you saying you HAVE NOT already opted out and deleted old addresses??

http://www.whychat.5u.com/GUIDEBOOK.html

You should have done that BEFORE sending any disputes.

OF COURSE you mail your dispute of addresses ( and anything else you "forgot" to correct) to the CRA address that is on your reports.

Well the only thing I have addressed is the medical collection on my report and it was tied to my current address so I thought I didn't have to. The medical collection was deleted though. My apologies and thanks for all of your help.

Transunion deleted all of my old addresses.

Experian did not delete all, the left my previous address, I'm assuming because some items on my report are tied to that address.

Haven't heard back from Equifax as of today.

I know you say that we can search online for the recorded instruments and in your judgement letter you mention "I have certified documentation from the court" so are we searching online first and printing the proof out to attach to the judgment letter or are we searching online then going to the court to get a certified copy?

If a judgment was actually recorded as a judgment lien ( in the same way that deeds and mortgages are recorded) then you can get a copy on line to examine for any discrepancies. If your search says NOTHING IS ON RECORD, then since you are on a Government website, that is sufficient "certification" of the absence of a recorded judgment, you can print out the "not found" as proof but you do not need to send it with the letter to the CRAs.
