Dont know much about this but I currently have 5 Chase cards......Ritz, UE, Freedom, CSP and Ink.

All my cards were instant approval except for Ink. I apllied for the Marriot card 2 days ago and it is still pending.

My oldest Chase card was opened 15 months ago and all others evenly spread over the last 15 months.

I may have hit my max exposure with Chase at 55K over the 5 cards. Havent called yet to check status on Marriot. May have to move some limit to open it.

wonder if they include all of the AmEx D*... as "new" cards

also, what a crummy situation since they like to pull EX... sort of like salt in the wound.

I have wanted a CSP or a Freedom for a while but I held off when they wanted to pull Ex...

What business model is this? not exactly a new business push... this will pass, perhaps in time for my Chase C/O to fall off Ex...

Just to add a data point, I was just approved for the Slate card 3 weeks ago and I have waaaaaay over 5 new cards in the last 2 years.

If this is true, I will never get the CSP or Freedom since there is no way I'll go 2 years without applying for new cards. Just hope if this is a new policy they nevery apply it to their cobranded cards.

Are you suggesting they've been able to put together the first observation, then the GPs, and the following science in three weeks?

Less than three weeks to compile data on both Flyertalk and Reddit.

Ok ok, I'll pay off my Chase cards early and app a CSP. Unless they want EX. Then they can FOAD.

Maybe it's possible that the reason code is no longer listed as "too many inquiries." :dntknw:

 That's a good one.

It sounds like the same BS reason to me. Neither reason is generally important with 99.99% of creditors if your reports are in shape.

Yeah. I'll GP this with K-Man. They pull through ice, so it's not going to be a huge hassle...

Payments sent to Ink and Freedom. I'm kind of reluctant to GP this too fast, since I was trying to GP the auto CLI thingy on the Freedom. Then I am going to GP how fast they will PC the CSP to a 2nd Freedom (assuming I'm successful getting the CSP. Of course I always assume success) Too many things to GP.

No negs, 100% on time, declined for too many new accounts. Lowest score is from EQ at 718

I have 8 new accounts in the last 2 years.

This happens all the time. What did recon say?

Applied for UMP and Hyatt. UMP was instant and Hyatt denied for to many new accounts. Called recon and moved 5k from UMP to Hyatt. Call took a few minutes.

I'm going to start referring to you as "Your GP-ness."

I'm going to refer to you as your Biliousness. While your French friends are in town I will use Bilieuxness out of respect to them.

Since I mentioned that we've had three Americans, a Columbian and a Costa Rican show up. One more American lands in about an hour, and then tomorrow the pack is complete when our Indian friend from California gets here.

Most of the time I feel like I'm addressing the United Nations right here in our living room. In English, of course. :P

Unless he or she was on the Niña, Pinta, or Santa Maria, I'm guessing they were Colombian.

Ah yes, Columbus sailed to N. America and syphilis accompanied the crew back. OTOH, a century or two later Europeans brought over smallpox.

Maybe Columbia grads.

I thought I read that this new accounts denial wasn't being employed if currently have no prior Chase cards. We'll see. Sounds like the too many inquiries boilerplate though.
