This recall started last year and there is a huge shortage of replacement parts. Our dealer ordered last year and still haven't seen the part.

According to those letters posted on NHSTA website, these affected vehicles are of the 2003-2005 model years.

Edit: Reading further, it's mainly 2003-2005 model year, and up to 2007 on vehicles sold in Florida.

Toward the end, 60% of Consumerist.com articles were about this or some recent listeria outbreak.

I was sort of sad to see them go, but sort of relieved at the same time.

This airbag thing still pisses me off. My Acura was affected. Nearest Acura dealer is 3.5 hours away so I took a day and had it done. Then the settlement stuff came to light. and I signed up. I knew it wouldn't be much, but I did it anyway. I had paperwork of the recall that was done, a copy of my registration, etc. and it came back, twice, that I was not eligible for the settlement. Uhh...what? Horsepuckey.
