Will Chex account Blacklist you for CC?

I've been searching the forums but haven't really found a definitive answer. I have chex accounts with US Bank and BOA (both were overdrafted checking accounts). Will these accounts blacklist me from being approved for these banks credit card products?

It depends on the bank or credit union. They may have an internal database they check - along with the CRA pull. We recommend caution when doing business with a bank you owe money to.

There's no master list of Banks that blacklist based on chexsystem accounts?

No master list. If you apply for a bank card, they may check an internal customer database - along with Experian, TranUnion or Equifax. Chexsystems is pulled for checking/savings accounts.

 

Banks do profile customers to see if you qualify for any of their other products or services. They may check internal records to see if you are an existing customer of any of their other services, or review any previous transactional history.
