How to get loan amounts updated on CRA

Recommended Posts

I have quite a bit of student loans and have always paid on time. I have actually paid a bit over the amount on all of them just trying to pay them down.

They haven't updated the amounts on my credit reports since Dec 2014. Is that normal? How often do they report? I pay thru myfedloan and am assuming that's the servicer of the loans.

What can I do to get them to report new amounts or more often?

You aren't alone. I noticed that on my reports from Fedloan as well. They had no problem reporting the negatives, but don't see to report the positives. I'd love to hear of some stories and how other people worked it. Do you think it could be as easy as calling and asking them to report it?

It just updated couple days ago but the updated amounts are from Jan 2015. So i take it they are about 2+ months behind on their reporting.

I had a student loan that didn't update for, what felt like, a year. I think, unfortunately, this does happen.
