Not sure if its just me but i consider credit repair to be an everything goes war. ..i have no shame in anything I do Even to card issuers (ms)

am I wrong for thinking like this? maybe

but it has given me the ability to buy cars and a house. ..even float debt for a month for free. ...everything I did to repair was learned here and twisted slightly

My score just hit 791 ty CB

LOL

i don't know about you, but when i was fighting the CA and JDB it was a bloodbath. I came out victorious. And like you, i learned my tactics from here and tweaked them to fit my battles. I can't say whether you're right or wrong, that's not my call to make, but I totally understand. I've been there. Don't look back....

(the question, and point, is there in the OP post...)

Nice to be out of the repair mode but, admit it, it was fun like all challenges that are non trivial. Not that we'd want to repeat the experience.

My only challenge was to get bk deleted

That was accomplished around two weeks ago

But then why is this called "'tainted' view o' credit repair?" What's "tainted" about it? :search:

All out war is always tainted

Trying to put the word taint in here as many times as possible

I completely agree.

I also believe that people like us who will do anything to fix our credit are also probably some

Of the best potential borrowers on the market. The odds of us making late payments after going through what we did to get where we got is slim to none outside of true financial hardship

thank you for understanding the purpose of this, its more of a "lesson learned" will never happen again kind of thing

Pretty much anything that didn't involve perjury or mis-stating my income was fair game.

Always beware of unintended consequences. If you're going to state "that's not mine" and then get a fraud alert on your files, don't cry about it. If you're going to freeze LN and then have problems with id verification in the future, don't cry about it. If you file complaints with AG, BBB or CPFB and get thrown in special handling, don't cry about it. All spoken from experience.

I wouldn't go that far.

Well, speaking for myself, "credit repair" wasn't a bloody battle. "March to Bataan" might be more illustrative at times. But, by and large, it was a waiting game.

I was fortunate in that I only had one past collection on my CR. Along the way, I had two more that tried to establish their insidious presence, but was ultimately successful in removing both (one by appealing to the higher powers at Verizon, the other by a single phone call to the state AG).

But the most significant achievement I scaled on the path of "credit repair" was simply to keep my nose clean for two full years on the couple of revolvers I had managed to salvage. During that time, some of my worst blemishes aged off, leaving me with scores of 30+/60+/90+ entries (and maybe a stray 120+). But the two years of clean history were sufficient to raise my FICO from <500 to approx 680.

At that score, I was able to open my first prime accounts with Citi & Chase, and scored a decent first mortgage at near-prime rate. It was all uphill from there.

With 4 years of clean history, I now had mid-700 scores. Most any credit door was now open. I sought goodwill clears of the remaining delinquencies with mixed success. I was now more than content to wait the rest out.

I'll concur with an earlier post: Once I secured a clean credit report, I was fully committed to keeping it that way. If I had any wish in hindsight, it would be to have entered the credit game with a similar commitment.
