Opened card in Dec 2014 with 650 score. Credit line $1600. Hit the luv button credit line is $5600. Score 701.

I can't believe I got an increase of 4k!

I freakin love Discover!

Don't forget to ask for an apr reduction every 3 months. I do it through live chat.

I love Discover too!

Im glad I saw it too this thread too. I just did it and was offered 1k. Went from 15,500 to 16,500 and no hard pull for once. I actually just got a CLI from 13,500 to 15,500 back in January out of the blue. I am a low spend user with it. Maybe 300 tops a month. Sometimes less than a 100.

I've had this account 4 years trying to get it up. God I remember when it was a lowly 1k back in 2011.

Edit: I've hard pulled once a year to get it higher. Biggest jump they gave me was 8k to 13k in 2014. Im shooting for 25k as I love this card's categories for restaurants and online shopping in the Fall.

I'm all for getting higher limits, but saying you need a $25K Disco for a $1,500 capped quarterly category is a stretch. :) Edited by Konrad2012

I just like high limits. Makes me feel like I could throw a car on my CC at any moment even though I never would.

I opened this card in August with a $1500 CL. I luv buttoned last month up to $4500. I hit it again yesterday and got a 3/5 day get back to you. I just logged on to see status and boom $7500 CL. My 2 chases are my highest at 10k but at this rate Discover is catching up.

Would the request for apr reduction via online chat be a hard pull?

No... You can ask first, if you're worried about it

Good Luck!

I have $15,000 on my Discovery and spend exactly $2.02 / month with it.

How luck were you with getting an APR reduction? I wasn't able to get a reduction when I called due to me having to wait a year(?) but I got 0% for purchases till May 2016 though.

I've had the card since 5/2012, score was 660 'ish at that time. $1000 SL @ 22.9%.

Requested apr reduction (first time) 3 months ago, lowered to 20.24%

Requested apr reduction last night, lowered to 17.24%

I will continue to do this every few months... Maybe you can't start asking til the card is a year old?

Or... Once you accept an offer of 0% for a year, you can't request an apr reduction until that is up?

thanks OP.

gave me 1.5k from 9300 to 10800.

btw, how to know if there was a hard pull. I was not told about anything when I key in income, employer, monthly housing amount. So I am guessing this would be a SP.

Correct, it's spelled out (if it requires a HP) and you'd have a chance to cancel the request.

What's the time frame for requesting CLIs?

I have to admit, I don't know when I should try again. This is my first CLI from Discover. :swoon:

I believe it's every 3 months.

Yep. I requested a CLI in early December.. from $2500 to $4500.

Just used the CLI slider 3/31 and SP'd another $1K to $5,500.

It's a wee wittle one but it's growin'!

I wonder if I should let a balance report with Discover before trying the luv button.

It seems that the people in this thread who got CLIs above $1500 were carrying balances.

I usually PIF before statement cuts (and definitely will not revolve or pay interest),

but I wonder if Discover likes it if you let a balance report.

Any thoughts?

Good point. I had a balance report of about $1K when I requested the CLI in December and $0 when I requested it last week.
