Forgive me, but I haven't read the last several pages of this thread.

I have seen that the consensus develop that 17 days seems to be within the safety zone for an additional CLI. I also experienced firsthand that 14 days is too soon.

Has anyone had success at 15 or 16 days?

I recall a couple successes at 16, but not consistently. Can't remember 15.

I believe everyone who was successful on their first CLI has also been successful on every subsequent 17-day attempt so far.

17 seems to be the safety zone then. I'd like to see more people who don't care about the outcome report what happens at 15 and 16.

I would try again, but since I've already gotten a decline I'm not sure my next approval would be very telling at this point.

Try again now.

From what I recall, the decline from an early request doesn't affect the 17 days clock (see below).

Mash that button, cv.

Recent SP CLI requests:

5/ 3/2014 $1000 automated phone

9/17/2014 $1500 online

12/20/2014 $1000 automated phone

3/30/2015 $1000 online

4/22/2015 $1500 online

5/ 5/2015 $1100 online (pending)

Well, I kept submitting CLI requests since the 5th. Today It finally accepted it, but for $1500.

Just as a previous poster stated, it was 16 days.

Just got (2) CLI's for my dad. 2k and 1k.

On one card, or two different Discovery cards?

2 different cards

Gotcha. I still don't want another one.

You still do... You just can't admit it :D

Winner at 16. They should add slot machine sound effects and graphics to that page.

has anyone received more than $1500 at a time? just curious.

Got $3k first two times and $1k this week.

are you following the 17 day plan?

No, I didn't know there was a 17 day thing until last week. I figured I'd just try once a month and see if I get lucky. I started a thread before this one on discover giving me a CLI. I could prob get the date ranges with a little investigation.

If you saved your emails,

there will be emails for each CLI from "Discover Card" with subject "Your Credit Line has been Increased".

Okay after digging around

3/1 $3k increase

4/6 $3k increase

5/9 $1k increase

So I'm well over 17 days.

Just a question for the experts and those who have much more experience than me..... Will a Discover with a large CL be able to act as a Prybar with other Banks/CU's?

Thanks,

Manny

Sure. Get that puppy up to 50K and you are golden.

232 days left in the year. That's 13 more chances to do this if it goes all year.

And even if I go all year getting $500 more ever 17 days, it still doesn't match my highest limit.

The card is still a turd - but much less of one.

My last (of 3 successful) 17 days later attempt got the "we'll get back to ya" response. Today I got a letter saying:

INSUFFICIENT EXPERIENCE WITH CURRENT LIMIT ON DISCOVERy CARD

Oh well, I got it up to $15,500

Please recap your dates and CLIs.

You might be the first person denied on subsequent 17-day attempts.

That's what I was thinking too. I don't have exact dates, but I received a $1500 auto CLI right before all this started. A week later I saw this thread and waited, while I read for a week or so. I mashed and got another $1500. The 17 day theory started to form and I requested two more using that strategy successfully. 4th manual attempt got the 'wait and see' and a week later I received hard copy with the above reason for denial.
