Rorer_714
Maybe I will see if Citi will change my new card to a double cash If you are going to get large amounts of AGC I would certainly get some type of 2%+ card.
Konrad2012
I guess this is even worthwhile on a 2% cash back card (not that I have any) ... just doing it on my INK card so far... I should start doing this on multiple cards. A 2% CB card is better than the INK card. MR points are worth around 1.6cpp. And the debate foes on There is no debate on this. That is the true market value of MR points. Just like the $2 trick you might want to yield to the pros in this area. Except that KB wants to specifically redeem points towards F tickets to South or SE Asia.
I don't even...
Albertsons has an in-store sale thru Jun 21st. Buy a VGC for $100+, get a $10 off coupon for your next grocery purchase of $25+ in the next 7 days. Can't find this online or in the ad. Do you have any kind of link? Personally then for KB that is probably (I would need the exact flight info to crunch the numbers) the best use but it does not change the true market value of the points/miles used. If KB wants to feel the points have a value of 5, 10 or more cpp then that is great but is not true. The same way if someone wants to feel that 2% is the way to go with the $2 trick and not $2 more power to them but that is also not true.

Holysmoke
trying to figure out if this M$ is worth it (not to meet minimum spend for large bonus) even with 5x points and a point is valued at .85 I would have to make 10 trips to the store and hopefully find someone to sell me 5 GC's. Then 10 trips to a money gram and hope that the MO goes through without a hitch. 5.95 per GC to get to 58820 points for a $500 gift card would net me $351 after fees, but that does not include gas and how much one values their time, it just doesn't seem worth the hassle at all. I am not a traveler so I only think about the $500 VGC reward.
Rorer_714
When you first start out with MS try not to make special trips. Incorporate MS into your normal shopping routine.
Holysmoke
this 5x option is only at one gas station that is out of my way. very hard to find gas stations with 5x $500 GC
kayvebear
Can someone PM me the 5x gas station? Having trouble figuring out what you guys are talking about or maybe it doesn't apply in N Cali. Also, Konrad is right. I am not doing M$ to make an extra few bucks a year. I am doing it so that I can grab my lady and fly her first class some day to Bali. Something I would never otherwise be able to afford (or be willing to spend money on if I could)

Fuerza
Anyone with a Fidelity American Express know if FIA world points mall is gone? I was searching for it last night but it seems like only bank of American world points mall comes up. When I log into BofA world points mall it says I don't have a qualifying product. Konrad2012
Shot down at Kmart using Sears GC to purchase a VGC. Whole screen lit up saying only cash, check, credit or pin debit for 3rd party gift card purchases. At this location at least, you'd have to find someone who just didn't GAF about their job to even see if the register would accept it for payment...let alone do it repeatedly scaled up
