david_weaver
Cappy. The answer is no. If that were to happen, which I doubt, you can safely and legally walk out. Yes, at Walmart at least, the MO does not print until the payment is approved and is not valid until the cashier types in the code from the printed MO. So maybe a little awkward, but you can just walk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
blitzdonkey
I found a perfect place to ms and make whatever percentage off of the cc and doesn't even cost me a dime besides gas and time. Ran 7k thru the place while i was out of town for the week. Only bad thing is your only allowed to buy 1k per day period on cc. They do require ID to manually keep track of if you bought 1k yet total for the day So simple too. Goto gift shop and buy 1k gift certificate. Then walk 30 feet out of gift shop to the CAGE to cash the gift certificate. Then goto bank and deposit the cash. All with no fee. For people that knows where there's a cage with cash then you know what type of establishment I'm talking about. Just wish they had higher limit and it was closer to me then 12 hours. Next time I'm down in that area. Might have to check the surrounding similar establishment and see if they offer the same type of deal. david_weaver
Isn't your CC issuer going to start getting nervous if you are doing $1,000 per day in a place like that?
blitzdonkey
It shows up as a gift shop store. Same cc for all 7 times. Didn't flinch. Actually i did get a email to confirm. I bought alot of gift as far as they are concerned. Imagine if they had even just 3-5k limit. You be able to run 100k easy month without any fee and make what someone at normal job makes a month. Using like a 2 percent cashback card. Edited August 17, 2016 by blitzdonkey
CreditNewb15
All I can think of are casinos and strip clubs ha. And I don't think either give gift certificates. EDIT: I was wrong on at least one count. Edited August 17, 2016 by CreditNewb15
Big Bear
Well now I have to see if "those shops" in Detroit have gift certificates... Bit of a drive, but that could be an option to keep in the back pocket for later use.

blitzdonkey
I've been to alot of these establishments. They all have gift shops. This is the first one I've come across that will let you do that. Funny how lot of there customer still don't know about it and goto the cage to do cash advance on there cc. Now if vegas establishments do that. Man that be easiest ms heaven right there. I also know of few strip clubs will sell you stripper dollars on cc. But then you need a stripper to cash it in. And they only get 80 percent. Not a good deal. Don't ask how i know that information. Edited August 17, 2016 by blitzdonkey

You gotta find out if the gift certificates can be redeemed for cash at the cage, otherwise it's just a gift certificate to the gift shop.

CreditNewb15
Serve shut me down today. Been doing a couple thousand a month for the last 4 or 5 months. All in $300 loads from the Staples VGCs. Loaded a $500 VGA from giftcardmall on Tuesday. RIP

Loaded a $500 VGA from giftcardmall on Tuesday. RIP Serve shut me down today as well. Not that it much matters, though. A few weeks back, all the Kate's near me stopped accepting VGCs for Serve reloads. This week, in some sort of a mass upgrade, all the Kate's were replaced with standard Walmart ATMs. I think I have 25 or so of the $200 VGCs from Office Max I need to liquidate. I would hate to do all those smalls at Walmart. Am I correct I can still buy MOs with VGC at Kroger?
CreditNewb15
I have bought MOs at several WalMarts in the area and had no problems. $1300 to pay rent and no blinks an eye at the split transactions. I've only done it once at a local Kroger, but no problem there either. The Customer Service Desk at Walmart let me reload Serve with VGCs too. I am not sure if they knew that's what they were though. tweak
My Serve opened in May 2016 is still alive. Here's how I use it: - numerous small real swipes - real DD of $200/mo - two "cash" loads/month of $500/ea - billpay check mailed for "rent" - never ACH back to checking My statement transactions look somewhat like a real checking account. Small scale, but useful for hitting min spend. And still alive (for now). Edited August 25, 2016 by tweak
silverdulcet
What a coincidence. My serve was shut down today too. Only used it to Bill pay rent & also cash out rebate visa gift cards. Up until the last two months I was loading it using my Fidelity AMEX, when it switched to visa, I used my citi DC. Perhaps that's what did it. They didn't like me using a MasterCard to load the account. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk

Brandon1008
I got my 1st VISA non-vanilla GC and was wondering if it has a PIN? or do I need to add a PIN in order to purchase a MO from Walmart? Thanks.
blitzdonkey
That depends on the gc. Some have it in the package. Some you create at frst use. Some you call to add. Some has none at all. That's why it depends on which brand and which ones you got. Only specific ones can be used for our purpose. And if your trying to use it at wlmart to get MO then it has to have pin as it has to process as a debit card.
