Just wanted to share and say thank you to you guys! We were in a tight spot when we purchased our car in Oct 2013 and had no choice but to take the (highway robbery) interest rate of 29.99%. DCU approved me yesterday for 6.99. I know still not amazing, but it's so much better than what we had. Their EQ score for me was 623 (MF shows 636).

You are SAVING 23% interest.

That is remarkable.

I think that is amazing for that score. Keep working it.

Awesome! Congratulations! Your payment probably dropped a TON (or did you shorten the loan - you might've been able to do both). Take the extra cash and work on cleaning up the rest of your reports and keep your utilization low and that score will come up.

I just refinanced with them as well and I really have had a good experience so far. Especially when you consider that I did everything via phone and online since I live nowhere near a branch. I <3 DCU so much because I got offered my refi when I called asking about my CC limit and they used the same pull for both. Generally, once they get to know you and your payment history they become very friendly about other offers.

Thank you guys!!! The payment didn't drop as much as we hoped it would (269-->205) but they shortened the term by a month lol. And that includes their payment protection which is an extra couple bucks.

Still, $61 a month can be put to other uses. An idea is that you can also make the same payment amount to DCU and pay the car off earlier if you'd like (which would save you more $$$ in interest) if there's nothing else financially pressing.

Yay!! What a savings you're getting! I cannot wait to refinance with DCU as well. Just a little while longer...

You know if you call them for something else they might offer it to you with the same pull. I called asking for an increase on my Visa limit and that's how I got my offer. 1.47% for 72 months on a new car. It saved me about $30 a month in payments. Once I get some other stuff straightened out - I'll throw a few extra above the monthly payment on it each month to pay it off sooner. I figure even $5 will add up over time.
